Could use some sort of tutorial. I have no clue what the controls for the fighting are, I tried hitting every key but the mage just flings you around and you loose.

Default key is Q or E you can see it in the icon. You always hit the direction your character is facing. Ranged weapons have projectile sprite. There is different delay/range/rate of fire weapons. After your first win you get to stat up, every weapon has their own hidden bonuses. New skills can unlocked in the talent tree, often opposite of their scaling attribute.

I added melee swing animations in 1.1 which is available in itch, it is more or less identical otherwise.

This is not really a worthwhile game, the combat's nonsensical, the powerups barely useful, and the rewards are lame. It is, as @Here4thefap pointed out, a bare pretense to present images. Single, static, images. Followed by spamming the same images for orgasm.

You start the game choosing your "free weapon" and are not given any indicator of what "stats" that weapon has to judge one vs another.

Once you've selected it, it shows a change in the Q icon, but if you go to your equipment list it's completely empty. You also have no way to change your choice once you've made it.

You have 0 experience gained by defeating a foe. You have no skills.

When I win, sometimes I also lose after winning? So I see the win graphics, back to my cell for a moment then announced I was defeated and the defeated graphic.

I got through enough talents to get thunder, then it disappeared from the E slot after like 3 battles?

This game is no where near complete.

Stats and exp are not a thing. Neither are equipment, but for technical reasons for weaponmotion you get one in 1.1 onwards.

Any weapon or arrow skill = 'physical' damage
Fireball / Iceball / Thunder = 'magical' damage

Any other bonuses are hidden and there just for balancing.

You can still "lose" to a projectile after winning which is triggered after opponent hp = 0. Which triggers double scene, I don't have workaround for that at the moment. Next opponent can also smack you in the few frames it is up which is a glitch.

You probably removed it by accident, the skill slots can be changed.

And how exactly are skill slots changed?
Click on the icon with mouse2, if you want to move the skill you have to remove it first then you can move it.

If you mean the double scene win + lose in one, yes. It needs a big system remake for a fix.

If you want to bind all skills to 1-4 instead. I might have had plans some extra skills, but decided not to at some point.

I do not mean the double scene.
I mean that , for any loss, you leave the remnants on the screen, as shown in the screen shot I attached.

Fix it.

Hmm, you mean the picture stays on? or the hud (HP/Skillls) stays on?

I mean the HUD stays on screen when you're showing the picture. This only happens for a loss, the HUD disappears when you're shown the win picture.
