I have always been interested in different types of fetishes, but incest has always been particularly strange/interesting to me. Not in a bad way, but I wonder if you know or have any theories as to what could be the origin or reasons why incest is so popular or attention-grabbing (considering that in porn it is one of the largest categories). I think it has something to do with Mommy/Daddy issues... which could be now spreading more and more with the divorce rates and so on hard to say. On a more serious note, like other species, humans have evolved to not being attracted to very close relatives, that they grow up with. In cases where they haven't lived together when young, this is not as apparent. I guess natural selection has probably filtered out individuals that do not exhibit this aversion and produce offsprings with reduced fitness (more accurately higher probability of reduced sitffness, since not all recessive genes manifest after 1 generation of inbreeding).
Then we have rules of societies, where incest is frowned upon, for the exact same reasons. I think these are much stronger motivations. Royal families have happily practiced inbreeding to keep wealth within family lines, easily overwriting any biological inclinations. For common folk, breaking taboos has always been seductive, but the cost if exposed was traditionally prohibitive. Nowadays, one can vicariously break taboos in the privacy of one's computer, thus the incest fetish has skyrocketed, while most enthusiasts are not actually attracted to their own relatives (hot 2nd cousins do not count)

This is nonsense from the same category as the Chinese working for a cup of rice a day. There are a small number of extremely closed ethnic communities (e.g. Roma), I have no idea what goes on there. But I can firmly say that when it comes to Poles, Czechs, Slovaks, Belarusians, Ukrainians, and Russians, it is utter nonsense. I might as well look back at the Mormons and say that polygamy was rampant in the US not too long ago. Bullshit? Absolutely. But you're trying to paint entire nations as nations of perverts. Marriages between full and half siblings (having a common father or mother); adoptive parents and adopted siblings are prohibited by law in the countries listed above.

Note it also depends on relationship, and of course marriage is more likely to be restricted than sex. 1st cousins is legal in most US states, but I don't think sibling marriage is legal anywhere, and sex mostly illegal. Parent-child is almost always seen as abuse. Even assuming both are adults.

I have not studied Russian documents, but the legislation of our two countries is largely unified (except for the issue of the death penalty, in Russia for some reason they do not shoot even serial killers), but I think the situation is similar in the issue of interest (incest).

Big same. I'm pretty non-specific when it comes to fetishes (incest's always pretty reliable, though) - absolutely just the idea of arousal overwhelming morality.
