In the house I lived in until I was 5, starting at about 4 would ride my big wheel down the steps from the kitchen to the pantry. Note it was only like 4 or 5 steps and was carpeted. Never fell or overturned. I did ask my mom if I could hold the cat while doing it. She said no. I probably would have been hurt trying that.
