/shrug People are free to not play it if they don't like it. Search long enough and you can find some pretty fucked up shit in porn games, granted most is fictional, but not all of it. I guess for the dev making an AVN about it was his way of dealing with that shitty loss, as at least the AVN has a somewhat happy ending (she survives with no permanent damage and does some time in a psych ward) unlike the real life version (just a suicide note left and body never found after jumping off the Bay Bridge irrc).

Well, if the game gets big enough I guess I'll just have to go to court to change my real life name to the MC's so they still match.

play time wise this feels like a teaser/feeler not even a full demo. almost as if the dev wanted to see what kind of excitement he could generate before committing to it.
I believe he has something worthy of support if he can make it the 3-4 updates that most gamers wait for.
the characters are charming. the story looks like it can go into a place where Tom is going to be Sarah's actual legal guardian, due to an unreliable mother. (kinda hope it does not happen, but rather Tom is listed as a contact person for problems with schools and such)
dev seems to use a lot of small animations during most shots of Sarah's face during or just after conversations.
art is above average for the characters bordering on top of scale with Sarah.
so far only 2 characters actually rendered in. personally i think that if the dev is going to focus solely on their relationship, he should never render another non-wallpaper character into the game. Do the opposite of Charlie Brown cartoons, you understand what the mom or a boss or wait staff says but you never see them, instead you see the reactions of your 2 characters to it. focus on the story and the two main characters.

rejected is a negative, if she was rejected she'd be in an orphanage, living in a cardboard box, or foster care. her mother does let her in the apartment whenever she is home.

wow that is what people say about loli and incest games... we should not ever say what can or cannot be allowed into a porn game, once we do where does it stop.
besides the game was a tribute to his daughter, and he did it by honoring the last words she ever said to him, "hey Dad, you should make a story"

Ok after reviewing your other games I do not hold out much hope for this particular one.
You have never made a game with an adult male protagonist. Your other games have a lot of erotic content with either girl/girl or shot/girl. So it seems you actually do not like adult male + loli sexual content. If that is the case you will simply drag the story out until you "lose interest" and this gets an abandoned tag before there is any erotic content even close to what your other games have.
I think you should label this "no sexual content" like you have done before. This isn't about not having sexual content from the start, or even a slowly evolving story line. This is about the high probability that you won't actually like where you end up when you make this story.
Developers that specialize in shot/lesbian content seem to have a reflexive dislike for the M/g genre. This could be due to the perceived power difference, the difficulty to write (it actually seems the easiest), or possibly some kind of personal issue from the past that prevents it. Either way I hope you don't go through with this if it bothers you greatly, especially if you start getting into creating the erotic Male/girl scenes (which I don't think will actually happen).
Just do you and don't worry about the popular genres.

Well, basically it was more drama AVN with sex in it, the sex wasn't its raison d'etre. It had it's highs and lows as far as mood goes, and the sex scenes are hot, but if you kept playing it also just made you wanna cry not long after blowing your load, especially going in knowing the dark parts really happened. IRRC (I haven't played it in a few years) it had like 6 or 8 optional LI's, one of which tries to kill herself (but survives). For those that really wanna change the MC's name, there is a universal ren'py mod called... well, Universal ren'py Mod by 0x52. Amongst a bunch of other functions, you can also rename characters and change words in the game.

I haven't tried it with this game yet, but it usually works.
EDIT: Hmm it actually does not work, probably first time I've seen this mod crash a game in that way.
But wait, it does work if one does not use the character renaming function and instead just uses the text replacement function.
