I take issue specifically with you implying a "powerless loser" is an inherently bad thing with no room to grow, equating it to being a cuckold. You know who else was a powerless loser? Yeah, I don't doubt it. I think people and even devs themselves just have a tendency to expect too much. Very often these are solo or SMALL team (think 2-3 at most) projects, and thus having good art AND a good story AND good writing AND good/fast programming all in one game is very likely a rarity. Especially since a lot of these games are either translated or made by someone who has English as a second language.

There's only so many assets to use, and only so many set ups that can occur with incest games. Most people that play those games want near immediate results, when the reality would be a very slow buildup. I prefer some teasing, playful flashing and that kind of stuff to get things going. The majority seem to want to get into sibling/parent pants without drama and building up the curiosity and trust that kind of relationship would need (at least a consensual one).

There are some games out there I assure you you'll be dead before they come back. That's the ugly side of donating to devs, a lot get used to it rolling in and then drag their feet with their games. Games like Eternum it's fine, as when an update does happen there is a good amount of progress to play through. I liked Heros Harem Guild, but I finally gave up looking for updates.

I can reccomend "where the heart is" it does have some of the problems you mention but sex actually feels earned cause depending on your choices you can get locked out of love interests and it takes some episodes before you even get to have sex (I think its in episode 9 and it currently has 24 episodes and the next one is the last one)

Yeah for sure, I even put it up as one of my favorite games in another thread. You can still follow all the tropes and execute them well with a bit of effort. I think maybe Man of the House had a lot of these themes as well but it was pretty great.

There's two points I really do mind. When there's an excessive amount of characters. And when the progress is too quick or there's no build up or otherwise the characters are ready to partake in incestuous relationships with a simple "hey, we love each other and harm no one, so let's fuck hehe".

Feel like there's a wide enough gulf (and plenty of options to fill it) between what the OP describes and what you've got here. Even small variations on what OP brought up could inject some life into things:

1) MC can be an average or ugly dude with an average or small dick that manages to seduce because of his charm or wit or because he steps up and saves the family farm or what-the-fuck-ever.
2) The father can still be part of the picture but is largely absent, work/friends/(insert reason here) keeping him away from the family and unaware of all the fucking.
3) Swap their personalities (bitchy/overbearing mom, doting/caring sister, bratty sister), or give them more fleshed out personalities.
4) Either slow burn all the relationships or make one the "main" relationship with constant sex and slow burn the rest. Or make MC someone that's always bringing home chicks and his family hears all the super hot fucking and just can't control themselves anymore. Also: address the taboo more often.
5) Limit the # of relationships/love interests or make it clear that some hookups are one-offs.
6) Add simple flaws to women, even just perceived flaws. Broad shoulders, stretch marks, dimples, scars. This I imagine is more of a restriction of whatever engine/rendering software is used so, even if I agree with OP, I can understand why it's not more common.
