i only use ymusic it links right up with your youtube account. you can download anything at a wide range of bit rate, you can watch youtube with and without video, meaning you can turn your screen off, its an ad fee version of youtube. the more you listen it will suggest songs of that type, make playlist, download the entire playlist in one click. it works great to find audio books. there a free verion and the pain is a onetime fee of $1 or 2. idk you do you

i hate streaming since more than once a favorite song/band will break and pull their stuff. now if i like enough i just save it and encase they delete i still have my copy
Seen Ymusic but seems to get lots of negative reviews, will look closer I think

People still use Winamp in current year? I thought it was just a meme. Is it even getting any updates?

I use Audacious. It can look like foobar2000 but you can also make it look like Winamp.

Still using it, even after all these years...

I've been using it for about 5 years almost daily mainly for music and sometimes audiobooks, and just youtube videos. there has been a few things negative things to mentions, such as when downloading files the names can get a little weird. also from time to time after purchasing it will ask you to buy again, all you have to do is is click buy again and enable the app again, yes its annoy or just ignore it the pop up it will work just find. you dont even have to buy it, I know before I did the ads wasnt bad. Im sure you can find it someone cracked.

another alternative to this I would suggest Newpipe you have side load it from their website, it is 100% free. its a nice app yet the ui is clunky. it has youtube, soundcloud, bandcamp, and a few other apps built inside it. you can download stuff, turn the screen off, watch video at low or high bitrates. its a nice app but I feel ymusic is more polish.

what I dont like about this one is to get new content I like I have to sub to thier yourtube channals and it will suggest new stuff as they upload. this app might have a chance to replace ymusic if ithad a better music suggestion, where ymusic seems build around music, newpipe is just a barebones clint provider. I dont have a lot of time in this app so maybe I dont have the settings right but this one I only use for channel I sub too on youtune since I can turn my screen off.

Whoa, Winamp! Thanks for the memories - and I understand why you'd keep using it if you build up your catalogue alongside it - but technology moves on as they say.

I'm listening more and more from Youtube Music (with a payed account), but I keep my stash of organized music, and I still enrich it from Youtube with yt-dlp. I'm horrified by some of my friends with Spotify saying "I listened to a thousand artists and several thousands of songs this year", and they can't name 5 they didn't hear previously elsewhere. I prefer to keep my numbers low, but more meaningful to me.

Havent used Winamp in a long time, heard some years ago it received or will get a new version idk. Last thing i used for music was AIMP3.

Haven't used Winamp in 15 years I guess. Nowaydays I only use foobar2000 on windows systems.

winamp was my main program for music but lately I start using Aimp.

Haven't used WinAmp and Jet Audio since XP era.

even on my phone, used to have local mp3 player, but now its replaced by streaming apps like ymusic, spotify

No but now you've made me miss it, used to love finding new anime skins.
Winamp, winamp, WINAMP it really kicks the llamas ass

I used it on Windows xp in 2008, but when I started using win7, I listened to music through the default player

Hard to replace something that works even after all these years.
For some situations it does not work.
gappless playback is such a situation, although that's mostly to blame on mp3...

I haven't used media players for music ever since streaming services became a thing.

I got out of the habit, but Winamp inspired me to use my PC as a music center. I need to get back to that!
