discussion RPGM sucks change my mind

I love the NLT series. But most other RPGM games have so many bugs or soft lock nonsense, that I don't try them generally. There was a femdom game that I was playing in rpgm (i forget the name) . The scenes were good and fun but navigating everything was too frustrating that i stopped playing it.

Don't even know why RPGM remains a vaild platform for serious games. It's a tag I avoid.

You can already filter games. Just select the engines you like and it filters out the rest.

Even for actual RPG games it's bad. For adult games it's very terrible.

When I see 'RPGM' it doesnt matter to me how good the reviews of the game are... I do not play it.

You have to be in the Games section of the Forums for it to show up in the bottom right corner of the screen. Make sure the arrow in the upper right corner that I circled in the pic is pointing down. If it's not, just click on it to open it.

So many RPGM games try everything to avoid being RPGM games, which then leads to the question: Why even use RPGM? The only ones I like are those which actually build something around oldschool RPG combat, like The Moral Sword of Asagi. These are really rare though.

Another issue, though this is unfair towards the games themselves, is the amount of just straight up broken English releases of RPGM games. So many machine translations break scripts and remove content unintentionally. And the people spamming these releases all over the place usually don't care or just lack the understanding of why things broke, so they can't fix it even if they wanted to.

What bugs me is that damn near every avn that uses rpgm doesn't need it, where they can just make it a visual novel using renpy since 9/10 times, they don't utilize the whole item section or implement combat. NTL I think is one of the few who has some justification in using it, and even that is annoying as hell (especially when half the time, a new update outright erases all saves, forcing you to start over).

It's literally meant for RPGs, and adult games should very rarely be RPGs at all. Of course it's a bad outdated system even for RPGs.
