But to give some clues, I would have to say it would be a game that's non linear and more of a sandbox...! It wouldn't even be my favorite game of all time!

Anyone care to reveal their own game for all eternity?

Princess Trainer by Akabur - you train jasmine under jafar's order as genie
Witch Trainer by Silver Studio Games/Akabur - genie switches places with dumbledore and trains hermione to help snap
Four Elements Trainer by Mity - based on avatar the last airbender you are a future avatar who goes back in tome and fucks every woman
Elven Conquest: Elf Trainer by Pink Tea Games - you are just some generic demon lord and train a couple of elves

Four Elements trainer is great and quite long at this point, I liked Orange Trainer but it could get a bit tedious and I never ended up finishing it.

When you ask people about their favourite games they tend to go to older games which makes sense as they usually are finished or at least well developed, but what are some recent recs you have?

One of the games I recently came across with a lot of potential is "Becoming Prom Queen" It is still very early in development but I like the premise of a nerdy but ambitions girl discovering that she needs to have more than good grades to get into university.
