An update in which mainly work was done on the issues of the previous release, preparing new mechanics and improving existing ones. As in 0.2.0, the emphasis is on introducing new locations and characters.

General:

• Significantly improved audio quality.
• Added translation of inscriptions.
• Game engine updated to Ren’Py 8.5.2.

kRigger -> Fresco:

• New facial expression system that gives better result.
• Improved character skin, hair, clothes shaders.
• Fingers IK controllers for faster posing.
• The addon development is ✨ finished ✨ and now is actively used in production.

Technical:

• Prepared the open world code for the next release (location building, weather, audio, events, notes, etc).
• New UI shader with iOS like round corners (squircle).
• Fixed Discord RPC.

• Prepared 16 new characters.
• Reworked 3 characters: Maksim, Dmitry and a car guy since they’ve become important characters.

Show openable notification on game screen when updating notes.
Notify if a save file is not compatible.
Notify about available updates.
Flight Mode button in the Special menu.
Enable, disable or hide save names.
Page buttons can contain page names if player renames them.
Navigate through the pages with mouse wheel.
More documentation and informative icons.
Added some *pretty* icons for theme buttons.
Themes music volume was reduced.
ILAE Interface was reworked.

Smartphone:
Add your own tracks to the player (for PC only) without reloading the game (a button at the end of the smartphone playlist)

This quick update is all about fixing those things that players hate, so there's no new content!

General:

Added proofread English.
News feed added.

Making the game more friendly:
Disabled rollback blocking for the timed choices (block rollback only after the warning message)
Added some more instructions about the game GUI.
Added a choice to either use the default Ren'Py navigation for dialogues or the custom one.
Added skip button, reworked auto-forward and hide interface buttons.
Made the rollback function save last 100 steps.
Made it more ADHD friendly (reduced the length and amount of transitions in the game)

P.S. Also, this is the last premium release. From now on all the future releases will contain everything for free.

So where do I put the taboo patch? The usual /game folder just has it crash when trying to start a new game. I really hope I just didn't waste time and bandwidth downloading this for nothing ( I don't do vanilla, and guessing this de-Patreonizes the awkward bullshit work-arounds with dialog changes, or at least is supposed to).

Temp fix I found: start the shitty unpatched Patreon version, save, exit, put patch in /game, continue from save file rather than new game. Of course, it still starts with a fake "sister" being the daughter of the dead mom's friend, so either it still might suck or the patch wasn't actually applied, I guess time will tell...

15 mins later: Nope just crashes again when going up the airport escalator. Oh well, cutting my losses before more time is wasted until the patch is fixed.

What's the point of throwing so many hot girls at the MC and then not making it a harem game?
Most often its for replay value. Plenty of AVNs are realistic (ie Where The Heart Is, shit goes south hard and MC probably ends up with no one if you treat that as a harem AVN). Girls will get pissed if they find out you are cheating on them and are not okay with sharing just like they most likely wouldn't be in real life. 10 girls = 10 playthroughs if you want to see them all naked (possibly less if a couple of them are ok with a throuple or open relationship). For me this one is a pass for the simple reason I can't get the taboo patch to work (no time for vanilla).

For me, it's simple no harem = no play because I don't want to waste my time playing the same game 10 times or how many LIs the game has.

Realistic games suck.

"Where the Heart Is" is one of the worst games I have ever played but I stopped wasting my time with it a long time ago.

I really liked the ideas and story in this game. I have to much fun corrupting mom.
 
After two years of silence, the developer suddenly woke up and rolled out a new version of his project. Alas, the project remains a demo version for now. I am pessimistic about the chances of the project being completed.

Really there's still 51 morons on Patreon giving him money anyway so there's no reason to put out another update, still getting paid regardless.
 
Extremely boring update to be honest. This "new" version of the game is inferior to the old one in every aspect, in my opinion. MC aint related to no one, so kiss THAT tag goodbye. Characters looks...meh, not very interesting.
Several scenes went on for way too long, without actually bringing *anything* to the experience.
If anyone is yet to play this "Update" trust, you're better off ignoring this one, at least wait for next update first, at the very least. This was just...horrible

I expected as much, the Patreon link gave that away. Oh well, another one to add to the "probably never even play and won't even notice if it gets abandoned" list.
 
Developer abandoned one game, then started this one, and for all intents and purposes it was abandoned. The new version of "Our Bright Days" is a complete story overhaul so there is nothing that resembles the original with the exception of the models/characters. I get the distinct impression keyclap likes working on the rendering and development of the project, but doesn't have any sort of real plot mapping in place for a fully developed visual novel or game. While I enjoy the visual representations and art, this is yet another limited run by the developer. If you go back and play through the first iteration of "Our Bright Days" there was at least some lewd material. At the rate this is being developed (I use the term developed loosely here), it will be another year before we see anything worth a damn - that is, of course, if keyclap doesn't shut it down and start over...again.
 
The taboo patch link was deleted (account closed for TOS violation, so was likey reported). If anyone has a copy, could you attach it to a response so I can add it to the OP?
