It's probably because branching is exponentially complex and these issues :

- present choice to the player is good
- meaningful choice is better but split gameplay into branches
- branches without in game replayability means game restart to get all content
- amount of work for several branches is huge

Other game design must be developped.

It really was, too bad it didnt have animations like later titles, but the models were great.
