I am pretty sure the dev said that depending on whether you choose to rape her or not, the backstory changes. Meaning that if you choose to not rape her the things with mom and dad never happen and she just lived a normal life up to that point.
Interesting. I'm not sure I like having present choices affecting the past but I'm glad I can avoid that particular past for the characters if I so choose.

This update today fixes a lot of these issues.
It's not the past when you are playing in the past. Some people don't like abusive history or content. People who don't mind it will play an abusive storyline. It's a way to make everyone happy as much as possible.
Looking into MAC issues.
That because Prologue 3 is for supporters. not free yet. A bug in the droid build allowed you to continue without the images which shouldn't have happened. Renpy isn't perfect when doing droid or mac.
I know there's a pure harem route in the game. The issue is that it's just one small part of the game, so for someone who is interested primarily in that route, it feels like we're getting only a tiny little piece of the development, writing, and artistic effort.
Everything including the sidestories will be eventually free. That's a statement, that LegacyUser made. The "paywalled" content is only there to give the paying supporters something back. You could say everything is temporary supporter exclusive until more content got produced and Legacy then releases a older version to the public for free. That will eventually include "Meet the Robinsons" and "A girl named Ruby". Also there is already a side story (Diane Chapter 1) available in this public release.
As far as I understand it, all this is just the setup for the actual main story, that will follow. I do understand your concerns, I'm also not a fan of sharing and so on, but until now Legacy made everything optional and even stated, that you can avoid any sexual encounters between the second male and the main girls. Only Shelby will never be a LI for the main MC. The latter may be a shame, but it could definitly be worse like other games. As I said, I can understand your concern, my only suggestion is to give a try again as soon as the actual main story starts, to see if you may like it. That may take some time though. Won't force you and won't try to convince you. In the end it's still your decision.

Supporters get content first. That's how it is. All content eventually becomes free. All of it. Someone who speaks multiple languages help me out here. The free version already has 2 DLC in it. Like this has already happened... twice, we're on .3 so I've done exactly what I promised to do.
