Did Ketzal games were really that good to begin with? If we exclude smols with pretty DAZ graphics, his novels were just bog standard porn slop about a guy that fucks things. His remakes prove this. They are vanilliest vanilla with most generic "stories" attached to them.

I don't think he was exactly a good storyteller. Personally, I didn't like the intricacies of SSP family dynamics. A lot of it is just power fantasy for smol-lovers, no grittiness, no depth, only either this whole cast of girls already wants to fuck you or they do anyways but they haven't realized.

Your average Melrose Place or Dynasty also had everything you mentioned. But the centerpiece of his stories isnt that, its a multigenerational nukige style story about a guy, that cant keep his dick in his pants. People pretending that his games were anything special beyond being pretty and having smols are fOnny.

As i wrote - for me it became apparent when i played his SSP remake. I already seen all of that somewere else way before Ketzldor even appeared on my radar way back in the day on ATF.

If you're looking for an interesting plot, I can recommend you some non-smol visual novels. Wild Cats is my favorite so far. Eternum is pretty much "And then they all fucked" in a sense, but the porn is almost secondary to the plot and I really enjoy replaying it. I like Caribdis's sense of humor.
Other than those, Japanese visual novels are my go to list. There was a point where I stopped playing Kara no Shoujo for the porn and stuck for the plot, and I'm glad the third part went with soft hentai rather than a full eroge route.

Yes, the original was amazing. IMO even essentially just a demo it already had the makings to be one of the best games.

The answer is a resounding yes. It never got to truly take flight due to everything that happened. But the short demo of it is fantastic. Highly recommend. Especially since we don't know when or if this remake will still happen

KnS 1 and 2 may have adult scenes as just a side service in it. I don't think all those lewd scenes were necessary, some sexual encounters could have been implied rather than shown directly, but I can't spoil you. KnS 3 has 'adult scenes' intermixed with the plot. They are not as explicit anyways.

I'd say it is worth it. If you get the Shiravune version you'll have to download the official Shiravune patch outside of Steam to unlock the gore and sex scenes, even in KnS 3. Depending on your take on Japanese-to-English translations, you may dislike Shiravune though. Shiravune does not try to translate literally what they are saying nor to preserve honorifics. Instead of Tokisaka-san, you'll see Mr. Tokisaka. If you know some Japanese you'll realize that what they say in the translation is slightly different but conveys the same meaning.

I'd personally recommend it anyways.

It's good scene setting and build up with several characters, but blue balls warning bcuz there is limited payoff.
