Depends. If it is a good guy that really help the MC it's good. For example, the man is a good mentor and leads the MC to meet more and more guy. Even if there hot threesome i like, but no gay content please.

I have no issue with male friends. In real life, the only men I met who have nothing but friends who are women have mostly been the kind who consider those friends to be harem material, or developed issues in dealing with people. I know its not the same for every guy in such a situation, but those are just the ones I met in RL

If you mean a real best friend who will always help and whom you want to help yourself, then yes. If it is your "best" friend who steals your girlfriend (NTR), then no.

Having the best makes sense since the MC had a life before the game starts. Some of the games though introduce the best friend at the start and then they just kind of fade away and become a background character. Which does happen in life sometimes but can be quite sad depending on how good the relationship was depicted.

No issue with male best friend. The only reason that you have to "deal with it" is the people who freak out that if anyone in the world has sex but the MC it's an NTR game. Or if there is any female character they can't fuck

games where every character is female and no one else can have any type of relationship, etc. never feel like a full world. To me that breaks immersion far more.

If it's in a NTR focused game, then of course either you are going to bang his girl(s), he is going to bang your girl(s), or he is going to bang you (if MC is a girl or gay).

If it is not specifically a NTR game, then if there's any NTR at all it should be entirely optional.

Otherwise he can be the best buddy that helps you get the girl(s) but either has no interest in her/them or bro-codes off of your interest(s). For those players that feel threatened by the mere existence of another male in the game, the best friend could be gay and not interested in the MC. THat solves the 'problem' of having another male exist, and makes the male nonthreatening.

[EDIT: After a couple seconds of thought, the idea of a male best friend in friendly competition for the LIs would make for a fun change of pace. Like, two guys competing for who can bang the girl(s). Maybe won't appeal to males that feel threatened my other males, but I think it'd be a fun concept for a game. ]

nope. too often the best friend is obnoxious in a way that only people who self identify as a prepubescent boy would think is funny. and when they have a got gf either MC cant cuck them or you dont want MC to cause you know where she has been. like donny from last challenge, i cant stand the guy, and i dont want any scene with anything he has touched, and why the fuck is he constantly swinging his dick at MC. male buddies should only exist in VNs so MC can cuck them banding their moms sisters and gf, like life in santa county, not only did i have MC impregnate his buddies mom, but left him in the closet when the crazy girl kidnapped him, so MC could dick her down like she needed. away from home MCs cousin, buahaha thats great.
