You're a human, there are different races such as: elf, demi-humans, monster girls and guys, humans and demons. Each one has their own religion and you being human means you worship the human goddess, each race has their own gods but there are no extremists in each side so they respect each other. Your family runs a restaurant. It's the usual medieval european style world, since there's magic there are no witch-hunts in case you do something out of this world.
There's slavery of every kind of race who are either wandering adventurers, child abductees, kidnap, old war prisioners in the case of some demi-humans and elves.
Slavery is not illegal and you can do whatever you want with them, yes even rape the little ones but they are more expensive so try not to deform them, but if you want that 6000 year old big tittied elf you're gonna have a bad time, they can read minds and will know you're only kind to them to fuck and the demi-humans are known to have unsatiable lust the older they get unless you buy a really expensive potion to calm them down afterwards.
Each town has an underground dungeon, monsters cannot leave it at all.
Human culture is the same as any other anime, bars, farmers, merchants, people being nice, some street rats and no rampant murders.
Magic can do almost anything but create complex things out of thin air so there's no giving the formula for strong metals and such, you need a forgery for that.
There are no wars in this world but one could ignite if the leaders are massive retards. (edited some context)

Catches:
1- No OP legendary outcast master that teaches you and makes you OP even if you suck and have no powers
2- You are not a destined child so if you live in peace you most likely won't meet anybody interesting or go adventuring because an OP female adventurer liked your average looks
3-You cannot ever learn any magic, this doesn't make you a peasant in this world, just different, ofc there will be idiots who think of you as an ant but is kinda rare

Parents are nice and you're not dirt poor, how do you land some riches and a possible wife with your life skills? You can, logically, get some friends who use magic or hire them to help you with stuff. Universal language is english

You didn't mention what culture and religions I'm born into, just fantasy and medieval. But making it fantasy means I can't just blanket assume that it is wholesale a European culture, and even if I did there is a world of a difference between western and eastern european cultures.
There's so much I have to assume to even begin to answer this.

Are you asking for advice?
Did you get isekai'd?

With your modern knowledge i´d say even a casual 2025 human could build or come up with stuff ppl there dont know.
Even not so clever people today are smarter than medieval common folk. So just be smart and you can make it everywhere-

Military Tactics that you heard of or just become a Professor or something even with Highschool knowledge youll be one of the smartest.

Thats how i see it anyway. Hope i was able to help you in your Isekai´d new Life, wherever you are :bndr0015:

With the amount we as people have developed as a whole, surely it'd be pretty easy to do many things. That, and you get to grow up learning things about the new life. You'd take extra care for things like hygiene and manners. If you're into younger folk, you could go for that. You'd be a whole lot smarter than most people so realistically you might be able to get away with tons of things. With the limited amount of information we've got about this new world itself, the main concern would be whether you could survive long enough. For instance, you could die of illness, maybe of banditry, potential war? Just food for thought.

Just your average level of education would be useful to live a plentiful life. (Just to clarify, you are probably not really smarter than the other, just have an advantage regarding the access to knowledge)

Well id say you are smarter because you know stuff that already happend in "your past" but the medieval people didnt ever hear of. Also even if there is another language you could learn it much easier because you already once learned how to speak, read and write most commoners could not read and write. Depending on your Isekai setting. Just talking about Earth´s medieval times.

There is a lack of information, but you can more or less guess what is missing.

I am an electrical engineer with advanced mathematical knowledge, which is not really that convenient in a world without electricity and creating my own rudimentary generator would take a while and would not be really useful knowing that there is magic.

On the other hand, my mathematical skills could open many doors for me, I am not naive either so the typical manipulation tricks such as flattery and shit like that that were frequent would not work on me, I also have an understanding of capitalism, based on investments and good decisions I could generate good income to forge a name and obtain power through economic control.

In that era and especially in medieval fantasies there are many species looked down on and slave markets, perfect as cheap labor that will work for the minimum and will feel happy about it for the simple fact of not being looked down on and being treated equally. Not only would I make a name for myself in the economic area, in the social area someone who offers opportunities attracts many eyes.

It would not be without problems, there are always those who believe they can reach the heights by throwing others to the ground, but when you have a squad of beastmen ready to destroy anyone in the name of their master who gave a stable future to mere slaves then you can breathe easy.

Can you tell me how I managed to get trapped in your nightmare?

Unlike some I really don't think I can assume I'd be smarter than the people around me. I don't think medieval people were any less intelligent than modern people, even if they were dealing with a smaller knowledge base. Probably also not gonna go full Connecticut Yankee on them and revolutionize the world, because like most people while I have an idea of how a lot of things work I don't know them in enough detail to recreate them from scratch- much less from a Medieval technology base. Maybe I can give them movable-type printing or something, but I fully expect to discover that that's way harder than I'd anticipated and I don't actually know how to do it.

So probably my only real asset is being literate and numerate in a world where a lot of people aren't; I can maybe secure myself good work as a scribe or clerk somewhere (though that assumes either they all speak/write English or my English skills transfer to whatever the local language is; if it's like real history and all the educated people are working in Latin or Greek I'm screwed until I can catch up on everything I didn't pay attention to in 8th grade). But you know what, that's probably enough for what passes for a middle-class income around there. I might dabble in some 'writing' of my own, by which I mean figuring out the local literary style and plagiarizing works from our world into it. If I'm lucky I can catch the patronage of somebody with real money, a minor noble or something, and spend my days flirting with court ladies and nights writing glowing passages about my patron.

If that nets me enough spare cash, I can try investing some of it in other ventures- buy a share in a trade caravan, spot some adventurers their gear for 10% return, become landlord to some farmers or tradesmen, etc. But that's a stretch goal; well before that point I should have enough to make a respectable offer to some girl's family.

That's the safe route at least, if I really feel like rolling the dice I can find some arms, sign up with an army or mercenary band, and hope I impress someone on the battlefield without dying.

Your name randomly appeared on the Diddy list and you got sent to him in prison, there was no baby oil so..... yeah

Boo. Bad storyline.
Too cliché in today's Isekai environment.

Biggest problem with most humans in this day and age: we dont know shit about how most the stuff we use is made.
I count myself decently handy and above average in terms of smarts / general knowledge, but I at best I think I could replicate or "invent" is probably steam power.
There are some concepts I have heard of but there are few inventions I can make from scratch or even scribble down a concept for.

Depending on the setting but just a straight up medieval setting and I "spawn in" as a peasant I would have a hard time getting the resources needed to make anything "high tech".
IF I get to know a blacksmith and/or some sort of engineer, we still need the spare resources and time to make something. Like a suit of plate armor was like worth more than most ppl could dream of seeing in multiple lifetimes.

Whenever I see this kind of discussion I think back to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series, where at one point Arthur Dent gets stuck on a primitive planet and thinks he's gonna uplift them with his superior technology until he realizes literally the only thing he knows how to make from Earth is a sandwich.

I immediately commit unalive bc whats the fuckin point of being reincarnated or whatever into a fantasy world if I can't even try to learn magic lmfao

What sin have I committed for them to send me an isekai that I won't have powers, I'll continue being an ant without being able to dominate or attack whoever bothers me (if I do some technology maybe they'll think I do black magic and myself :v)

Like most of my contemporaries, I won't last more than a month. Then I will die of either black pox (which we have already forgotten), plague, cholera, dysentery. Our knowledge won't help us. Are you able to make a steam engine with your own hands? Or an electric generator? Antibiotics? I doubt it.

I could get steam power going, but I'd need a blacksmith to make a boiler and other parts. It wouldn't be very powerful, but I would think I could find a use for it. A fire underneath a mostly enclosed boiler filled with water, a pipe coming out of the top connected to something that spins or rotates or a lever.

Electricity would be an issue. I remember the Baghdad battery used grape juice/wine, copper, and something else, iron maybe, not sure... I'd have to look that up, but if they made it back then (ancient times), I could make it in medieval times. And they believe it was used for electroplating. Which would be an interesting skill that wasn't invented yet. That would bring in some coin. It's not a powerful enough current for engines or the like, but it would certainly get people thinking.

Also, thinking about genetics with farming/harvesting. Taking the best of whatever food it is to seed the next generation. It wouldn't be fast, but it can be done. (This is remembered from high school biology, I have no actual practical experience doing this.) I have no idea if they had any knowledge of this or not.

Washing hands/hygiene. Using clean cloth for bandages.

Those are just some things off the top of my head.

As for your negatives, I think dysentery might be an issue, especially when you first arrive, but I would hope you know how to purify water. Also, remember there IS magic. You just can't use it. They should be able to cure or heal or who knows what else might be used to make things.
