I don't see that happening; most people prefer to meet in real life. AI, chatbots/sexbots, and Pornography are used when they fail to establish a normal relationship.

Their number of births per woman is 1.0, 1.4 and 1.6, respectively. In the US it's 1.8. To prevent collapse, a society needs roughly 2 births per woman, of if it's less than that, it must compensate for the deficit with immigration.

A society that shrinks fast has fewer productive workers as a percentage of the total society. This gets even worse if the pension age is relatively young, if productivity is also going down, and if life expectancy is high. There may not be enough doctors and similar infrastructure left to support all the old people. Add to this a tendency for young people to move to cities, and you can guess that the problems are even worse in villages. Sometimes there is no school left, and not general practitioner, in a village that used to have several of each and which is now populated mostly by pensioners.

I agree in principle, but living in one of the shrinking countries is still quite nasty. As you get older, things get worse in so many ways. Society as a whole gets older along with you. You likely don't have as many children, or not as many grandchildren, as you would perhaps like to have in your old age. Your pension may not provide you the standard of living that you expected based on how this worked in your youth. You may have trouble reaching healthcare providers. To reduce all these problems, your country could admit large numbers of immigrants. Theoretically. What happens in practice is that it admits way too few to make a big difference, and way too many from the point of view of those who are malcontent (because they are also getting old and share the other problems I mentioned) and blame the immigrants for it. So the politics get very toxic and potentially dangerous on top of all the other problems.

The US is mixed. Problem is it's the very poor and the religious nutters having lots of kids while others have few or none (many due to barely being able to afford to live on what they get paid.) Immigration is where many of the workers in nursing homes, etc come from. Myself , I'm 51 and never had kids - and never will.

If AI ever reaches that degree of immersion then chances are we'd prob also be at the point of creating "perfect" life in a lab setting. Sex could plummet, but creation of life would still go on. Theoretically speaking anyway.
