Short answer: the overlords that own the monetization sites don't like it. In order for the devs to keep their accounts, they can't have it in the story. The work around is either patches or the ability to change the relationships.

Funniest version of this is in Dreams of Desire where it's canon that the villains have captured and are probably torturing the MC's dad and nobody in the family gives a single fuck about it they don't even try a rescue operation or anything. The only reason you know his state is because of a post-credit scene and nothing else

Honestly I really hate the censoring people do. There are plenty of sites they can market their stuff on that doesnt care, but they wanna use the mainstream ones. On one hand I understand, but on the other I'm like. Youre making a game where this is CLEARLY the intention, so maybe use sites made for that?

Okay this thing kinda bugging me since I played a few games with incest on it.

It was clear that they're related but the default relationship when choosing one is like 'maid' or 'tutor' or something similar instead of Mom.

And this applied towards other member of the family like sister and aunt.

Is there kinda law out there that prevents the mention of 'mom' or 'sis' or any family members? Or it's just a taboo?

never got the reason for games that do this especially when its obviously in the story its incest
