It is an excellent power to achieve corruption in women in sexual submission towards him and for the enemy also to wash the mind that he is not his rival or he will go away.

I like it, but it is rarely used right. It is in that strange spot where if the MC uses the mind control too much the game becomes a fuck fest with no story. But if he uses it to sparingly or is too tame with it then it becomes just a generic game almost as if the mind control isn't even there.

Plain and simple, it just doesn't do it for me. Maybe it's something about finding it hotter, even in-game that the woman truly wants it.

It can work, but it's very difficult to write well. Assuming it's a story where the protagonist has mind control powers, it can lead to them being too powerful to the point that you can't write a convincing story arc or even a foil for them because they can just mindfuck anyone into doing what they want. On the other hand, if you give them too much of a weakness it becomes pointless to give them powers in the first place and the mind control aspect takes a back seat.

If the story is just about the MC fucking his or her way through a harem of people then that's fine, but it can get boring fast, and anything more complex than that starts running into problems.

Mind control to me feels like a sub-genre of corruption, but it's corruption on easy mode with all the cheats. There's no challenge, no peril, no risk of failure, so it's too easy for it to descend into a straight up fuck fest, which becomes meh very quickly.

I do recall reading a story many years ago, where the young male protagonist discovered their mind control abilities, and the corruption happened alongside them learning to use their abilities so was better paced. I couldn't tell you what it was called, or anything much about the plot, but I do remember it was well paced for a mind control story.

I myself always liked the idea of personally corrupting and changing how someone thought by hand to be more attractive than forcing them to change.

Mind control is one of my favorite kinks, and everyone is right that it can be like slapping the "easy" button, which can be a bad thing to just do it over and over again. Games that treat it like a form of corruption are superior IMO as you slowly change their mindset over several interactions really does it for me.

Some games that are good for that are:
Shattered minds: Already mentioned, but again, is a slow burn of implanting suggestions to gain control over people till they are added to your harem.
The Company: Mind control through drugs. You slip drugs into peoples drinks, then implant commands. Good game, lot of content, Real porn HTML game
Lab Rats 2: Another drug based mind control game. Slow burn as well as you tweak NPC's likes/dislikes, fetishes, etc. Turning them from normal people to basically sex crazed drones.
Superpowered: You literally gain superpowers, and have to slowly corrupt class mates and family into sex crazed drones. Really good game, wish it was still being worked on.
Snow Daze: You have a week to mind control your mom and sisters into sex slaves while snowed in at home. Fun one.

Alien subfetish
Parasite Infection: You play as an alien slug(?) that takes over a host, then multiplies and spreads, mind breaking NPC's into drones to spread even more.
Slugs and Bugs: Conversion: Another one where you play as an alien who has captured a number of women that you corrupt/mind control into slaves.

I really like the idea of the genre, my issue is that it takes out something I like way more, that is the slow process of corruption, with mind control games in at least 95% of the time the games evolves around you completely controlling someone to be or do something you want and take all the fun of the “journey” there.

There is however a game that came out not long ago called “Mind Control”, that goes out of this mold that basically every game of this genre fallows, as the way it uses this control actually does not make you feel like the MC is just snapping his fingers and getting everything the exact way he wants without any suspense, definitely one of my favorites

As many have said in the thread: as long as MC doesn't detract heavily from the corruption process by making it too "easy", it's a fine genre.

Another point is that I remember a game where the tool used to mind control was stolen from the mc and used on him. And it wasn't even an ntr game, it was just a creative choice by the developer. Possibility of shit like this probably makes people more cautious about the genre.

Plain and simple, it just doesn't do it for me. Maybe it's something about finding it hotter, even in-game that the woman truly wants it.
That's where I am. Mind Control removes consent. While corruption might be about bending the other person towards consent, they still have presence of mind to say no (yes, I get that some of the underage content here gets a bit fuzzy when it comes to that, since minors are not capable of consent according to various groups). While you won't see me kink-shame, consent seems to be a requirement for me, hence no MC, nor non-consensual Dom/Rape content for me. I certainly can't speak for every one else who doesn't like it, but that's my take.

Some games have treated it like hypnosis, where you supposedly won't do something while under that you wouldn't be willing to do while fully aware. That would be far less of a turn-off for me.

Its a good genre but a lot of devs don't put it in good. For example those ai chat bots who follow whatever you tell them and that all, it becomes boring after a while right. It's a good genre but hard to get right
Mind control is an excellent genre, but I don't see many people talking about it.
