discussion why are 95+ percent of mods on F95 donors ? (are they paying for extra privileges)

why do you personally think that 95+ percent of mods on F95 are donors and not just regular mod accounts?
do you think they are paying for extra privileges & do you think the site admin only allows their friends & people that pay to be mods (to be mods ?)

this thread has only a small bit to do with reality as anyone with a f95 account can see the amount of mods that are paying the site in whichever way you want to see it.
all thoughts are only speculation unless the facts can be proven as facts.

I think the mentality is like an investor, i.e you spent a lot of money into it -> you make it to the board. That and people be doing anything just to have the feeling of power over others.

I've heard that people on F95 have paid for mod priviledges and caused a lot of issues for mods that got the role through effort and genuine care. This is likely what gives F95 such a bad name regarding power crazy mods (at least from what I've heard)

Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised that if someone is passionate enough to put in the genuine effort to try making the place better and earn the moderator role legitimately would also donate because they genuinely want it to succeed. I would imagine on most forums that the majority of moderators are also donators through virtue of their desire to see the place thrive so I don't think they can all be painted with the same brush.
