I always go back to Akabur... great visuals and an early (and continuing) pillar of the corruption genre.

akabur hasn't put out a game or update in 2 years... Summertime saga was like that early on but its really dead. I think any of the 'Royalty' retired a long time ago or no longer are King of Hgames anymore. I think classic Newgrounds and games like Fate//Stay Night are the GOAT of all time for visual novels and there are a few of the ps1/ps2 era Dating sims that still hold up today. Besides I cant think of another porn game that got MULITIPLE anime series. Unlimited blade works is a great story and so was the first story in Fate... too bad the penis slugs in the third senerio kind of killed it for me.

The one thing I will add about Akabur, however, is that 2 years ago he was very deliberate in indicating the his next game, Queen Trainer, would not be released in stages or updates, but only when completed. His has monthly Patreon posts where he shows his progress and it seems like he's 4 - 6 months from a polished, final release.

I wouldn't necessarily trust most creators with 2 years of no releases, but Akabur has a proven record of completing games and he said from the start that he was not going to release updates. We just have to see if this game is any good when it comes out ;-p

For me it's Seath Black. You may like or dislike the genre but the man is hands down one of the most consistent developers out there.
Always consistent. New update every few months for one of his games.
Works on several games, doesn't let it get in way of delivering updates for each of them.
Each update is very rich in terms of content. Unlike some devs who after 3 months deliver a 10 minute update with 2 scenes.
Has rather interesting storytelling with actual branching choices. Has games that tie into each other.
Has no restrictions when it comes to content and doesnt shy way from darker themes.
His quality is very good when compared to many of the VNs out there.
Has already finished several games.

Overall, whenever I can, I sub to him every time because I know my money and trust is safe with him.

I think MrDotGames brought a lot of people in with DMD, and Melody worked well. I don't feel like the newer stuff has hit as hard but it might just be that I fell off it.
Akabur doesn't get enough credit and/or is often overlooked for his side of the lewd games community.
What Zetan did with Desert Stalker is also amazing, and when I started it I remember thinking they were possible some of the highest quality models/renders I'd seen.
Then yeah, Caribdis and Dr PinkCake for just quality.

I'm with you. I'm holding out hope that it's at least as big as Channel 34 season one, but we'll only be able to know for certain in retrospect. It sounds like they'll be different paths with different girls obtainable in the same playthrough with unique scenes, so that's encouraging. What I liked about princess trainer is that it didn't ever feel like a grind. As you progressed, the same scenes got more erotic. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of us ;-p
