discussion Which developer's visual novel game do you think would win an Oscar-like award?

Corrupted Kingdoms is a favorite of mine. It has a weird mechanics shift halfway through from corruption/trainer to wargame simulation but the narrative is consistent and the characters are cool. I even chuckled once or twice

Eternum is consistently funny and entertaining. Lessons in Love is... I mean the dude can write. I can't think of much else in any medium that quite compares to it.

Blackheart Games's games, Being A DIK, Summer's Gone all deserve an oscar.

I never thought about this, but after playing a bunch of similar games, I think that there are no such games. There is no such game that is several times better than others for explicit definition

Yep the the two games that would surely win awards are Being A DIK and Summer's Gone.

Their production values and cost to develop are more then most other games.

To bad loli games would ever win though As Such a Sharp Pain would be a contender as well.

Considering the absolute trash movies that are getting Oscar in recent years, I would say plenty of visual novels would merit the award.
Also, stop watching the Oscars, it lost its weight and importance. Today is just a bunch of millionaires congratulating themselves over mediocre art.

That's never going to happen. The level of narration of both VN and KN is very low, even at its best it doesn't rise above the level of an average fanfic.
As for recommendations, how can you recommend something without knowing your preferences at all? I can't stand manga, hentai, and Japanese graphics in general, while some people love them.
