WWZ in the book had slow zombies. The thing is it showed why slow zombies are dangerous. I think two of the most iconic scenes in the book for me is; a group of suvivors go on a multi story building roof thinkin they would be okay and so many zombies showed up that they just made a zombie pile big enough that it didn't matter how tall the building was. The other was the military shows fully loaded and just starts unloading all munitions of them. Like the scene in predator with schwarzenegger except the whole battalion was doing that. And they all died because there were millions and millions of zombies. Yeah you can run away from them easy but you screw up one time and you have 100,000 zombies at your feet.
i did hear that WWZ book is different from the movie and also better . iv been wanting to read it but didn't find the time , though i did read the military part and i did like it . the zombie pile thing did show up at the end of the movie and i think it was the scariest thing iv ever seen zombies do .

are we talking TWD zombies or other zombies ? because at least i dont think I can survive runner zombies like the ones in wwz or something like the 28 days later virus
TWD zombies and Resident Evil zombies are survivable. Running zombies? probably not lol

I loved the book and will probably never be bothered to watch the movie. That said the book kinda did make the military incomprehensibly stupid to make them lose at Yonkers, and even then had to fudge some physics to make explosives useless against zombies.

Fast zombies should probably still be survivable. We figured out a long time ago how to deal with fast humans after all.

Zombie, alien, and nuclear apocalypses have been done to death by Hollywood and the like, no thanks. I would be more interested in what you suggested, society degradation to something like medieval times but with small aspects of modern life that managed to be preserved.

Well there are fun apocalypse settings to think about, like books, games and movies to experience interesting settings, but most of them would be horrible to experience.
And there are settings like Pluribus which i would dream to live in. I recommend the series to everyone, in short every* human on earth is controlled by an alien hivemind, and they are there to do everything for you and obey your every command. I won't spoil the story because not everything is so fun and games but after you take care of some obstacles its a perfect scenario.
