It's hard to pick just 1. But a few that are my personal favorites are Madoka magica, stiens gate, and cowboy bebop

I haven't watched much anime in my life, but one anime that I did watch a long time ago that I still love to this day is called "The Secret World of Arrietty".

That's always a tough one for me, I've watched hundreds over the years but one that I have actively sought and even bought the release of a couple times is called Saikano or She the Ultimate Weapon. It's a pretty heart wrenching anime but I think it hits home with how we, as humans, would react to a world being torn apart.

Uchuu Kyoudai (Space Brothers).

It's a feel good anime about two brothers working hard to achieve their goal of becoming astronauts. It's really good, funny and relatable and the characters are amazing. Especially Mutta, the MC.

The anime doesnt cover the full manga sadly but there's around a 100 episodes if i remember correctly and you can always read the rest. The Manga ended in June actually after 19 years of publication. Big recommend from me.

I have many that I like, but two of the ones that come to my mind when I think of favortes are Zero no Tsukaima and Tenshi no 3P.

Has to be Attack on Titan, while its a very generic pick, this is the one that speaks to me the most over the others I've watched

Cyberpunk Edgerunners. That really resonated with me. I'm more of a manga reader though.

As simple as it is, I gotta go with My Hero Academia, for the longest time I believed anime was nothing but muscles and tits, I believe JoJo and Baki were popular at the time, but I was on YT one day and a Funimation ad came on and it was a guy doing like a speech, the way he delivered the line got me interested and MHA was on Hulu so I indulged, not even an episode in I was giddy like a MFer, I watched the whole first season in a single day and I got to the line that pulled me in, "You may have heard these words before, but I'll teach you what they really mean. Go beyond... PLUS ULTRA!!!"

I've watched quite a few, but mostly switched to manga and VNs. I feel like anime is the most restricted of the three.
But picking one or even a few top ones is difficult. Picking some I liked at random: Black Lagoon, Akashic Records, and Monogatari Series.

Haven't heard about that one. Thanks for mentioning, I should check it out. Glancing at the cover, it reminds me of Kalyx (no anime I think), SukaSuka, Gunslinger Girl (haven't seen it) or Black Bullet.

Most recent one I really thought was great was AOT, hard to believe it started airing in 2013. I do have some all-time favorite's Black Lagoon and Cowboy Beebop to name a few. I do wish they actually gave Berserk some proper AOT type love.
