AI can help us in all kinds of stuff. Thats y i like it i can use on my projects or image generating. I kinda believe ai will take over jobs but i think there is still alot of time for that.
An ordinary tool in the hands of a developer. How effective this tool is depends solely on the developer. There are those who have their hands growing out of the wrong place, and the result will be appropriate (extremely bad). A talented developer, on the contrary, will do just fine.
It's way overhyped. The current latest, greatest fad in tech. It's going to shake things up not by virtue of its merits but by virtue of greedy corpo fucks trying to get a premium seat on the latest hype train.
As for what it actually is, the answer is a tool that can be used for good but will mostly be used for bad. Just like many other tools.
there are cool things with the capabilities in many ways, but on the art side of things it's like when VNs use the same stock models, unless you take the time to 'make it yours' it's just going to all look similar and vanilla.
It's a fad that will be looked back on with mixed feelings in about 10-15 years. People won't lose their jobs, not for long and it won't kill humanity. That's just vivid imagination.
I like using AI, but I also know that it has many flaws and that it isn't real intelligence. It's overrated by people who don't really know how it works.
It's also overrated by *some* people who know how it works and want their dreams about robots, sentient AI etc. to be true.
i have found chatgpt to be a good news aggregator and the remake of killing time resurrected had the graphics up scaled by using ai (then had a human touch it up) with nightdive studios being a smaller company i wonder if they could have done the remaster at all without ai
I see it mostly positive, but the human part on the control of it can greatly vary which can cause all sorts of problem specially if regulated since that would create a monopoly so to me it feels a lot like a double edge sword where you need to constantly push away from you with your bare hands, so you don't get tricked thinking it is a human or an img/sound that is actually real at the same time it can be a great tool with it's blade cutting out all sorts of problems, improving work, science and whatnot.
As for my prediction of the future with AI, eventually either we will own the machines or the shares of it's labor like an investment you make or we will be unemployed, frankly i can't see a world where machines have taken all the jobs working with taxation or UBI, it seems less economically viable than the current situation where people are slaved, an even worse situation could occur if AI is granted rights because then they will be able to use money to replicate and sustain their own autonomy which means resources that would go towards producing food now would go to the machine economic bubble, even more than already is, which would mean extinction of the human race.
AI should never be used as "art," be it writing, animations, renders or anything else that requires generative AI because they feed off actual artists to make disgusting caricatures of real art.
I think that if people remember it's just a tool, then it can be very valuable. In certain fields like logistics, medicine, and research, it is helping with a lot of things. But what consumers mainly see generative AI. And while it's great that those tools can help a lot of people, using AI doesn't make someone an artist or author, but it can help an artist or author.
potentially a good tool for many things but it's too young and used not for the good things i think need some more time like 5/10 years i think to fully comprehend and exploit the potential of ai correctly
