Mostly only have time for one these days, FFXIV. Probably my favourite one I've played over the years, despite whatever problems people seem to get hung up on I still love it. Though I still probably have more logged time in RuneScape from childhood lol.
For real, Childhood is a good way to describe RuneScape, such good times

My favorite MMORPG for the last 20 years has been EvE Online. I'm a sucker for Space Gaming, and EvE Online is the biggest and the best there is.
An Entire Single Shard Universal Sandbox where the players make their own content. There have been Legendary Epic moments that happen to reinforce the idea that every action of every player can have massive impact upon the game.
The Game itself is constantly being updated for cutting edge graphics.
You can play for free, and purchase Premuim accounts using in game "Plex" currency that your character earns in game from farming, looting and exploration.
Once you take part in a 15,000 player Titan Battle you will be hooked.

Gotta ask, were you in M2-XFE?

Yeah, that makes Eve my go to as well
I keep dipping back into FFXI every now and then for the nostalgia hit
And I've got City of Heroes that I pop into every now and then

WoW, but only back in the early days before it became nothing but rushing to endgame to do endless raids. I stopped playing shortly after BC came out and never looked back.

I've played so many I can scarcely remember them all. I started way back with Ultima Online, but mostly now play WoW and FFXIV off and on extremely casually. I lived the WoW raiding life back in Lich King. I'm happy never doing that again. Had a lot of fun with Guild Wars 2 for quite a while but ultimately burned out. Sadly I struggled with EVE. I'm not into PVP at all. I once bought a new ship only to have to blown up a split second after leaving the station. I docked my pod, quit, and never returned.

FF14 for a actually polite and friendly community in about 400 hours I've only been insulted 3 times.
Destiny 2 for a dickhead community where i can be a dickhead back.

I like MMORPGs and I like reading people talk about something they like, so maybe I'll be interested in playing a new MMORPG too, the best review and recommendation would be the opinion of someone who enjoys that game, no matter how subjective that opinion is.

Personally my favorite is Guild Wars 2, although it's graphically old, its art style is gorgeous, its mechanics are fun, the PvE is quite extensive and varied and although personally the PvP doesn't appeal to me, GW2's PvP is so good that it got me hooked for a long time. But above all, it respects my time as a player, there's grinding, but not exaggerated and if you stop playing for a while, when you come back you don't need to farm everything from scratch for new content.
WoW without a doubt

The only game I still go back to is WoW. Each time it gets a new expansion I go play it, only to be met with disappointment.

still a WoW player
Yeah, me too. I've been playing since I retired from the military in 2007. My boys got me hooked on it,
so I've been playing ever since. I keep saying I'm not going to get the next expansion when it comes
out, but I end up getting the new one anyway.
Sometimes, I should just resign myself to realizing, I'm gonna get the next one, so stop deluding yourself
and just get the credit card and buy it.
Oh, well.

Every couple of years I'll return to Runescape to check out the changes. Then I stop and repeat the cycle.

Would you play a Lewd MMORPG? There is a few mobile game but it all Gacha shit

I played WoW for a few years. It was great back in the WotLK days. Most of the areas were interesting enough that youd want to explore them, the music was some of the best fantasy game music ive ever heard and there was always something that I wanted to go explore or collect. havent been able to find its equivalent since I quit other games just dont do what it did for me anyways.
wotlk was the best, so much fun at wow

Guild Wars 2, I played a fair amount of MMO's and I can say it's the one with my favorite open world elements, a quite in-depth build customization and fluid combat with action elements that make it more complex, the Mounts are better than any other MMO I've played, the exploration and the puzzles are fun and the community is quite welcoming and helpful, plus it's not subscription based, you just buy the expansions you want and play if not, the free 2 play is fairly generous and was pretty much what people payed full price for at the release of the game, Final Fantasy XIV is a very close second mostly for the very social and lively community and the incredible over-arching storyline, I wish it used it's gorgeous backdrop to introduce more open world elements like in guild wars 2 and make certain expansion areas feel less barren, the instanced content is also imo better than GW2.

I'll have to say it's World of Warcraft. My boys got me hooked on it in 2007 after I retired from Active Duty and I've been playing it going on 18 years now. I started with
the Burning Crusade expansion and I have enjoyed it ever since.

Every single solitary MMO, I was dragged there kicking and screaming by IRL friends. I never M... MO... but played where they played.
If it was group, it was group. If it was raid, it was raid.
EXCEPT

City of Heroes. They left because it was EZMode and that's the only one that I could solo the "solo" missions... which is also why it failed. "Why solo in an MMO?" type of thing.
"I dunno. My friends dragged me. Ask them." But City was just at "my" level to keep playing. Loved the Character generation (for 2004, it was great). It was cancelled, though.
And to this day, I play a mission or 3 a day on an actual licensed pirate server (!). Yeah, NCSoft said: As long as you don't make actual profits, here's a license.

But if you like challenges and HAVING to group/raid, barring about 5-10% of City of Heroes content: it's a solo / play with friends game. Avoid if you're hardcore.
