It was Halo combat evolved for me. My dad didnt give 2 shits that I was far too young to play it. The level "343 guilty spark" is probably why Im rather fond of horror too

N64 Diddy Kong Racing and Pokemon Red were the first games that I played like a degen. Earlier than that, I remember playing the original Doom and Wolfenstein when they came out

I actually don't know what the first game I ever played was, or what hooked me on gaming. My parents had a win 3.1 computer when I was barely old enough to associate a screen with a mouse and certainly not literate yet, and I've been using computers ever since.

It was probably something in the Best of Windows pack, like Chip's Challenge - I still remember being frustrated beyond measure on some timed ice level.

Pong is my first memory of gaming, then getting drawn into it in the 8-bit era of Spectrum and C64. Can't think of a specific game but I remember playing stuff like text adventures, California games, Barbarian, IK+ and Operation Wolf.

would have been the arcade right across the street from my grade school in about 1977 / 78 to only soon after make a new law that only people over 18 were allowed in between 6am & 4pm
anyone under was only allowed in after school hours cause everyone skipped school to hang out in the arcades LOL

and even back then it was expensive at $0.25 a game, you could buy a large fries & a pepsi or coke for $0,50 & that included the $0.10 deposit on the bottle & a large fries were huge, feed 2 people no problem
