I see corruption as a transformation of the mind. In some cases its fast, like hypnosis or drug induced. Personally I prefer the slow burn on corruption, altering someone's personality/perspective/etc over time. Normalizing the perverse until it becomes the subjects desire. Making them feel capable of doing things they never would have even considered before I got to them.

Corruption = simple and direct alteration of the original state or characteristics of something.

Corruption in games has more to do with the normalization of sexual acts that were initially not standard for MCs, LIs, and NPCs.
But if you look at the Corruption Tag as if it were synonymous with Incest, Netorare, Netorase, and Prostitution, mind control, it is not productive. In the Incest Tag, sex between the MC and a family member, brother and sister, is not corruption, but convincing parents that this is natural to the point where they allow sexual acts openly is corruption.

The Corruption Tag for a wife would encourage her to be more sexually assertive, wear sexier clothing, be more receptive to anal sex, have sex in public places, allow her husband to grope her, or use toys for him, etc. However, there is a huge possibility that she might cheat with another man. For this, we already have the Netorare and Netorase Tags.

Although other Tags already mentioned have elements of corruption within this fetish, it is used for a greater purpose.

Moral degeneration. Character won't do X at the start but through the gradual breaking down of their lines, you make them not only not mind doing X, but being actively eager to do it. Hypnosis is a totally different thing because you puppet them into doing X. It's all about a) the gradual shift and b) agency

For me it is the classic situation where MC wants have an incestous relationship, but the other person doesn't want.
So MC starts teasing until the other person will want to have sex as a necessity
MC can use hypnosis and/or drugs, but i prefer just teasing

Corruption to me is the idea that you take someone who starts as purer or at the least vanilla, and usually slowly turn then to being more and more depraved and or into sex as a whole. I prefer when it involves the character having a higher libido for the MC. Usually the best examples will have a "corrupted" character being incredibly kinky and or seeking sex actively
