I often use AI fiction generators to write interactive erotic stories for my own enjoyment. I started with AI Dungeon and then switched to Novel AI after the censorship issues with AI Dungeon.

While the AI stories are usually on track, they sometimes go very far off the rails with all sorts of crazy stuff that doesn't actually make sense. Here are some examples of stuff I've seen the AI come up with when writing erotic stories:

1) Girls can be impregnated through anal sex.

2) Penises are detachable weapons that can be thrown at people like ninja stars.

3) Catholic priests can get married and when they do they like to sacrifice their wives' female relatives by disemboweling them and fucking their entrails.

4) People who sell girls as slaves give the buyers both the girls and the money.

5) All articles of clothing from bras to shoes to pants can be found inside a girl's panties.

6) It is perfectly normal for a girl to be a grandmother at 22 and also for her daughter to be 26.

7) Men typically get pregnant by having sex with women.

8) Being gang-raped by stallions and forced to give birth to centaurs is a common and accepted form of punishment for shoplifting.

9) Prostitutes typically charge in excess of $1 billion for sex and it is completely normal to be able to withdraw that much money from ATMs.

Story and chat AI can't do math and are generally really bad with numbers. For them everthing is part of a story and fictional by design.
For example you can't talk directly to the AI, it will always play a role and in this case it plays the role of an AI.

It also depends massively on the source material how certain situations play out. Some words and their combinations trigger certain processes.
That's why the player often dresses up directly after the sex an goes home, even if it's their own home, often to go to school the next day, even if a full ass adult.
Or that the AI has seamingly no memory of any state of nudity and starts to undress multiply times or suddenly is clothed again, because that's how the sequence of the scene works.
Okay now a blowjob? So first the pants must be pulled down, even if the character is already naked or wears different clothing.

It often feels like those games with real porn, just a collection of pre existing scenes, cut and pasted together to form a new sequence of scenes.

Your explanation makes so much sense! Numbers seem to confuse the hell out of the AI, be they ages, money, passage of time, or anything else. It's annoying, but also quite funny when that happens. If I try to have a time jump in the story for a character to age, that character might be older but no one else will be.

I've seen SO many sex scenes in which more than one event takes place and the girl takes her clothes off all over again in the middle. Usually multiple times. Pulling her bra out of her panties is another oddity, like what was it doing there in the first place?

Another issue is that the AI sometimes understands the concept of virginity and other times gets really confused by it. If I write that the MC wants to have a girlfriend who is a virgin then every woman he meets will be a virgin, even those who are married and have kids. My MC keeps meeting women he wants to date whose mothers, grandmothers, etc. are all somehow virgins!

I've also seen the AI list virginity as a job skill on girls' resumes when they apply for jobs in the stories. One of the funniest scenes I saw recently was when my MC was one of several people in a hiring committee and the AI had one of the other members of the committee ask a 20-something woman who applied for the job, "So, your resume says that you are a virgin. How long have you been a virgin?" It was if the AI thought that being a virgin was an occupation or skill that someone could obtain at work that was relevant for the job of working in a store.

I like to have the options to choose between being an asshole or a hero in adult games, so I write dark-themed scenarios and try different playthroughs where sometimes I am playing as the hero and other times as the villain.

For instance, I might have my MC buy girls as slaves in order to save them from being executed or tortured or raped or something and then set them free afterwards and sometimes later try to romance them. Other times I might play as the slaver in a villainous role.

The AI seems to get the most confused when I am playing as a hero in a dark-themed scenario. It will keep having characters ask why the MC isn't a rapist, for example.

Sometimes it will come up with things that are just completely unexpected though and don't make any sense, even in the scenario. Detachable penises being thrown at people and shoplifters being forced to give birth to centaurs fit into this category.
