discussion VN Extreme Fetish Genre Separation

I'm working on my own VN game at the moment that has a lot of various different extreme fetish genres in the game including loli, blackmail, cheating, ntr, bdsm, humiliation
Rape, scat, graphic violence, guro, and snuff.

My initial thought was to add an option into the game settings directly to allow players to opt in for the "extreme content" and keep it disabled by default when you first open the game with a disclaimer telling players how to enable it if they choose.

My question is what genres do you think a game that is based around Loli content should be placed into the extreme content filter and which genres should be left in the base game?

My initial goal was basically to have a bit of everything for everyone, but I know some extreme content is a huge turn off for many, so I decided to make the content filter, now I'm just having trouble decided what stays in the base game and what goes into the filter ..


Genres are:
Loli, blackmail, cheating, ntr, bdsm, humiliation, rape, scat, graphic violence, guro, snuff, toddler.

While it's probably a lot more work I'd personally suggest a system that lets players filter these out individually. It's going to be very hard to find a one-size-fits-all filter for that tag list that keeps most people happy.

You could alternatively make each individual scene avoidable and include content warnings on the choices (e.g. [Take her home]/[Let Chad take her home (WARNING NTR/RAPE/SNUFF)]), but this is also a pretty work-intensive method and some people will still be upset that the tags they dislike are even possible.

I had thought about making content warnings for each scene or even each story route when making dialogue choices, but as you said it's a massive workload. I think I might just put every single category into an extreme content filter and leave small bits of cheating or very light bdsm elements, but probably keep the normal game vanilla...

It would if I tagged the game as such, there are many different titles on forums such as this one that have this type of extreme content that don't explicitly tag as such and are not flagged for removal...
I suppose that's another good question for another post...

Big nope here and on pretty much any site. I find anything like that here and as @Tripod70 it will be banned. Your going to have a tough sell on a whole lot of the stuff you have listed and are thinking about adding. Being your first game I would keep it simple, Your looking to mix a whole bunch of stuff a lot do not like and even if they could "turn it off" they wont touch it because they know it's still there. I got dragged in here from another staff member but now I will be watching.

thats fine, I will adhere to whatever rules and regulations the site has. I dont really intend to be a rule breaker or step on any toes. Glad to have the extra clarification from an admin, because tbh i have seen plenty of VN games and content on this site that falls into the aforementioned categories so I assumed incorrectly...

Problem is that's likely to leave everyone unhappy or locked out.

People who enjoy loli may walk away at the sight of toddlers. People who come for NTR may reject anything with loli. People who might want to see toddler may detest guro. Etc. If all that stuff is lumped into a single toggle together you're drastically limiting your player base to people who like all of it and people who like none of it.

Yeah, sounds to me not a popular genre/set of genre. Its not something I personaly would ever support because of the sheer exttrremity of this. Its fine if you want this game for yourself. Do what you feel. However, in all, except for maybe the dark web shit, sites, this kind of content would not be permitted.

I like BDSM as a light entertaining fun act, and light going material. It seems most people here would be the same.

Only a very few people in this world (so far Im aware) are into this hardcore extreme violence material.

It has its own genre it seems. I think its called extreme fetish. No idea though because I hate it. (That's my personal opinion)

Yes, I agree with other comments that it is not suited for LC, unless the site owner and other mods would approve. I cant talk for them but it seems it would not be permitted here due to the depth of the darkness involved.

However, if its a game for your own self then its no ones business what you do. Just not something the public would likely to ever be interested. Niesh market.

I do not support rape, graphic violence, snuff or these things, especially not involving toddler/minors.... not even in fantasy. I would block such content.

This is nothing personal or against you or what you maybe into. Just my views on this style of content. Its a very very risky area, especially with the way the world is today.

I just wanted to put my input.... Not as a mod here, but as my personal views, that I do not mean to offend, but rather #offer viewws that I am certain a lot of people share. This way you can be aware and be mindful of this sensitive subject. Especially when you wish to involve toddlers ages. That is just not something I feel is appropriate.
