I usually use both Virustotal (

) and Kaspersky (

) whenever I find something suspicious.
Virustotal usually gives some false positives, but some of the scans it does are very reliable I feel. And Kaspersky seems good.
How reliable are these when compared to standard Windows Defender? I've been hearing it's not bad.

You can check internet connection if you feel that there is danger
Check for odd .exe program being run

This, in my view, does suggest sth about changing processes before making stuff available for download. Maybe delay making a new release public for a week or so until testing it in a sandbox for a couple days? Unless that's not practicable and savvy public users are needed to bring up this kind of stuff
