I feel like a lot of folks overlooked that the new Boy is gay.
He claims he doesn't like girls. Perhaps his brother was more than just a sibling, maybe he was also his partner.
The Boy seems to be more into the MC than he is into his daughter, so you're right,, a gay tag is surely coming soon
