From what I've been reading, it appears that it will affect all sites (including LewdCorner)
If a child from the UK can access LewdCorner, then LewdCorner can face a fine (up to) 18 Million pound (GBP)
If LewdCorner places a region ban on the UK and a child from the UK uses a VPN to get around the ban, then LewdCorner can still be fined (up to) 18 Million pound (GBP) (even though they took measures to prevent it)
It doesn't matter where the site is hosted, all that matters is whether or not the site can be accessed from the UK.
If a child in the UK can access this website right this very second, then this website can be fined.
Next mass DM: "Hey guys, we need to raise 18 million pound to keep the website going".
24 states in the U.S. passed laws requiring all websites with any pornographic material
that they must require photo ID and that any website that did not do this the states fine them
however many millions of dollars, P-hub just blocked the states altogether, some websites
followed suit and setup ID checkpoints, while other websites said no; and kept their websites
opened.
The UK just like the USA has no jurisdiction in other countries like Japan, China, Germany,
Sweden, Poland etc. They can say you better do what we say or we will bring you before
our courts and our judges will fine you millions of dollars, but it's not going to happen, because
the UK and the USA have no jurisdiction in these countries, they cannot force citizens of other
countries to appear in their courts and fine them. The UK like the USA often talks big to intimidate
people and get them to do as they say, this works on some people, but not everybody is
intimidated with the big bad talk.
