INTRODUCTION:
Hey, there! It's Deaufosse, developer of Malignant and Burned with a fun pervert masterclass for ya'll!

So the stock options for DAZ pubic hair generally either fall into no-pubes or wild bush, and me being a fan of realism, I know that is not the case for IRL pussy. Most girls shave, which means they have pubic hair stubble. Younger girls have fine vellus hair on their pubis. In this guide, I'll show you how to make both.

THE MATERIALS

Kaluma's female genitals for Gen 9 is pretty solid, although Advanced Pussy for Gen8 is a masterwork of vag customization. We're not focusing on the genitals, though; we're focusing on the hair, particularly a strand-based pubic hair, and either one comes with such an option. Gen 9 Female Gen's has stubble right out of the box, which is great. For this one, I'll use Advanced Pussy with the Light Blue Growler pubes since it involves all the tricks I've learned.

STEP 1: The hair

1. Attach the pubes to the gens; if it's a bush, that's alright. We're going to fix that. Go into the Strand-based hair editor. Click the play button next to Scene -> Edit -> Strand-based hair editor (not the basic option)

STEP 2. Painting: This is where the pubes will appear, white being the densest, black being no pubes. Usually the painted area is too large. I just take the brush, turn the value to zero then shave off the upper pubis area along with the inner thighs if there are any.




STEP 3. Distribution: This is where we go nuts and probably put your GPU through a workout. Take the hair density and change it from whatever low number it is, in this case for me 10, and punch that mother up to 150. (I've gone as high as 250, especially for vellus hair) Change the thickness of the base to match the value of the tip.



STEP 4. CLUMP & TWEAK:
Go to the tweak and clump tabs and zero out everything, all the scraggle, frizz, random length, etc.




STEP 5. STYLE: Now, this is where the magic happens. It's also a little non-intuitive but bear with me.

5.A First things first, click show hair w/ widths, turn off style curve and kick the amount up to 100 so we can see what we're doing.



5B. Now go to Extend Curve. Turn that slider all the way down and watch those pubes disappear.



5C. Click another tool then go back to the extend curve tool. It resets the value back to zero, but keeps the pubes extremely short.

5D. Set the pube length.
The value will vary depending on the look you want. 0.01 will give you freshly shaved pussy. (first pic) And 0.08 will give you shaved pussy with ~2 days of growth. (Second pic) Generally, the closer the camera and the longer the pubes, the less density you want to have in the distribute tab. For 0.08, I set it to 100. 150, for 0.01. 200 for a non-extreme close-up like the first pick of Steph Cho above.





STEP 6: SURFACE SETTINGS

For the final touch, go into the strand-based hairs surface settings and go to Cutout Opacity, and play around with the value. Depending on the lighting of the scene, camera proximity to the hairs, and render resolution, you're going to want it to be higher or lower. Also, the longer you render, the more the pubes show up, so don't be afraid to render once, then use the spot render on the crotch.

BONUS: VELLUS HAIR

To get some good peach fuzz for extreme cunny close ups, follow all the same steps as above. Keep the hair long (~0.08) and dense (200), change the hair color to either blonde or white, then knock the hair's cut out opacity down to 0.1-0.05 We want it barely visible, so it only shows up when the light hits it just right.
