Thoughts on clothing changes?

I don't mind if it is a simple clothing change for say a character working a job and there are multiple scenes involved with it, but if you change clothing and then the scenes don't reflect it then I find it kinda takes the whole appeal out of it. It also sometimes makes the scenes feel more fabricated or designed so that they can be easily swapped with the clothing system.

Personally, I feel it's only important/necessary if related to the story. I'd rather faster updates then clothing changes just for the sake of variety.

IF the outfits aren't awful, why not? People change clothes all the time.

Are multiple outfits and clothing choices worth it to you? Obviously it's a lot of extra work and render time so it means longer waits between updates. But does it add enough to a game that you think its worth the wait?
I think it ads enjoyment to the game

i love having optons, sometimes its nice to change things up a little, i love when the game incorperates it into achieving missions

I like it but it's definitely not necessary, kind of like when you watch a cartoon and each character has their "look" which includes the same outfit in every appearance, some cartoons go the extra mile and dress them differently from day to day, but some just keep it as is. I appreciate the attention to detail but a dev doesn't exactly get points removed for not switching up outfits.

I personally like this feature and a game is more interesting for me when offering this. Character customization is great when done right.

That's not something I care enough about for it to matter. I may notice if the outfit is the same or changes but it's more of a passive acknowledgement before I move on

I don't care about outfits at all, more important is how they look naked

Changing clothes is the good option

I'm a fan of Character Creation in games but I think it's more important that you've got all the necessary outfits done or concepted before moving onto the more customizable clothing. I believe it to be better to have a finished game first, then include more customization options to it afterward. Or maybe a mix of both, where bigger content updates get released first alongside more customization. yknow?

Not necessarily.
A well-chosen outfit is enough. As long as the developer focuses on the actions of their story.

I think it is not really worth it unless you intend to show the passage of time or a change in their personality, but like DameJudyMench said, it really depends on the render time. If it is going to take development time away from the advancing the plot or scenes it should be for something important.

It can be fun but not important, having no bearing on downloading or playability

I would agree, but I dont know if subscribers would stay on just for the polishing stage of a game. Like adding clothes and whatnot

Depends—if the new outfits are actually used in scenes, then I’m all for it. If they’re just there for show, then not really.

It's a nice little touch added to a game, but it's not a dealbreaker. You don't wear the same thing every day, and if you saw a girl on the bus or at the store who was literally wearing the same shirt every day, you'd probably cringe about it. But in these games, we're suspending our sense or disbelief, so the fact that the hot girls wear "uniforms" (Becky has a green shirt and jeans, Amy wears the same white sundress, Jenny has shorts and a tank top on even in the winter...) can be forgiven in a decent to good game. And on the opposite end, an unenjoyable game isnt going to stay on my playlist just because the dev added new outfits.

I appreciate the effort that goes into it when done well

not something I will make a demand for. But if the option is there I certainly appreciate it.

when i notice a rpg-m game has 'modular' clothing my pointing goes +2, noticing it when the characters fade out its fun
