Overview:
The world did not end with biblical brimstone and fire. Or with a bang. Or an asteroid smashing against the Earth. It came with a flash, and when that bright light faded, everything cease to be.
The main character (of your own naming) awakens to find himself in the Interim, a realm which exists between the old world and the new.
Before long, he runs across Mira, an Entede–a metaphysical being sent to aid him. From her, he learns that he's there to assist those who've yet to properly move on.
As these lingering humans desperately hold onto memories of their former lives, he must help them come to terms with their existence, all the while learning about the reason for his own situation.​

It's not bad writing , but its absolutely horrible story.

MC 'exist' in some place. He doesnt eat, drink, piss, shit or anything. He cant get tired or anything else , can move anywhere just by thinking about the place.
And with all the above, all he does is :
choice to spend 5 minutes with 1 girl and progress story A DAY. After those 5 mins he goes to sleep, even tho he doesnt need to sleep, till next day to repeat the 5mins again.

And that is not a bad thing. Setup and basic story idea are quite unique.

How does it compare if you were to put a grade on both? I loved Now and Then, but have found this a bit harder to get into. Maybe its just where the story is more abstract than a zombie apocalypse, or maybe its something else that I just can't get into.

I do like how we simply have options to move to the next scene for who ever we want but like a lot of sandbox games sometimes things are said the contradict other things that have happened.

I really got hooked with Now and Then right from the first minute of playing.
With Interim Domain it took me a while to get warm with.
What kept me playing was the idea of the multiple stories and histories of each girl and an overarching main story. Since I go at it like I am playing a game and all the ladies are "Side Quests" or "Companion Quests" it was easier for me.
Again, story arcs are really good.

i played the first version and immediatly stopped playing.
And at the some time Now and Then is a real gem.
Never understood it.

Has the game become better in later versions? are does it never remotly reach the quality of Now and Then?

It surely is worth it. I haven't played Now & Then, but this one is really good. As mentioned in previous comments it takes some time to pick up but once the story gets going its really good. The characters are all good too. Surely worth spending time to play it. Also the thing is there is a lot of text, If you are someone interested in a good read in addition to a good hanky panky this will suit you.

Given its story, i do wonder how it will be solved in its end, will the new world simply have them reincarnate and remember their time with mc and reunite?
It would be nice if it went that way, but its not over just yet so im looking forward to how it goes about it!

I think Now and Then is by far better than ID, mostly because the really interesting main plot also completely deflates every character plot. Why care about any of the girls when they only have one possible end and that's to disappear? It should have focused on the world and entede, and side girls being short "one and done" events instead of on-going stories

Tru, it has made it it difficult to care more about the girls when you know they pass on. Really liked the entede and since there are "houses" for different precepts/goals/ideals we could have explored them and maybe had those entede as main girls?
