Way more Games have been released by a lot of different people recently, wich in a way is good, but the quality has just been going downhill since.

A lot of HTML games with minimal effort being released, or some copy pasted images in a RPGM game are becoming way too frequent.

sometimes it's just some low-quality 3D renders in ren'py. with minimal effort put into animating them (for the important parts ofc).

once in a while you find a diamond in the rough, but having to siff through so much garbage is always a let down.

watcha think?

I mean, with new technology that everyone can use (ai for example), it's only logical that a bunch of people will try their hand at this

Even AI can't excuse poor writing, not all of us are here for the seggs, some are here for a rich story with themes that can't normally be explored in conventional games

RPGM and HTML games are my most hated games due to how shitty the overall experience is, but man quite a few lazy as shit renpy games have started to make me hate all of them.

AI ruined ren'py, made it too easy to create a 1 hour put together game

You just have to be more selective. Leave reviews, be honest, and only look at games which score highly. It'll soon be apparent if the reviews are fake.

still great games coming out, just avoid AI shit for now

A porn competency crisis. I suspect a lot of creators are in it to make a quick buck and make it by on stringing together assets made my people more competent than themselves. I think writing typically hit the hardest, as they tend to be shit with grammar and can't find natural routes to the meat of their games. The laziest of these creations tend to be HTML games that use snippets of IRL pornography for content; I can at least acknowledge if someone bothered to pose and animate in a program like Koikatsu or something since they at least tried. The content we're here for I reckon does get hit with this the hardest. I think instead of money, they are created from passion (horniness) but once that passes they tend to leave it behind, like closing a tab after you achieve climax. Still haven't found a decent straight shota game that isn't already on Fuck95.

I only think it's a good idea, having more developers making games or VN's. Not everything is going to be perfect the first time around, it takes practice and a lot of good usable feedback.

Dont know... i dont have issues finding good games in the AVN sector.

The crappy ones are easily filtred out. Most of the times its already enough to see a preview picture and you know what you have to deal with.

My bandwith is pretty good, so download times are not really an issue for me... if i dont cant decide if a game is crap just looking at the preview i download it, start it... 5-10 lines later i know exactly if its crap or not. I can see just by looking up the latest updates page if a game might have potential or not, and most of them dont.

The opening post already said it... most of the crappy DEVs dont even put a minimum of effort to their games. Those are very easy to spot in an instant.

DEVs who really put work in their games make an effort to create a decent enough discription and preview pictures...

That doesnt mean the ones where the DEVs put a lot effort behind it are automatically good games and you will like them... but so far i never ever wasted more than 1 minute with one of those zero-effort games. You can spot them in the latest updates browser already from a mile away.

An d regarding review... if a game is high rated but the reviews are all very short and full of bullshit, i dont even bother with the game, it cant be good if a 5 star review doesnt even spell out what is good about a game besides "girl looked hot"

be more selective and look for the most positive reviews, but yeah it's rare to find a quality game (around 0.1-0.5) with good story and renders these days

I don't think overall quality has gone down significantly. Maybe it's just that there are more porn games these days and therefore also more bad ones, or maybe you've forgotten the old bad ones because they're not as memorable as the "classics".

I'm fine with people doing real porn or AI html games as not every one is an artist but god at least have good writing or a unique concept

There have always been weak games, many have been abandoned and forgotten not only by developers but also by users. As an example - how many will remember the multi-volume VN “Mysterious Stones”? It was quite popular, but now (frankly, deservedly) forgotten.
I estimate the percentage of successful projects at about 10-15%. Overall, if you think back to the situation in 2019 (when I discovered AVN and gaming) and the situation now, not much has changed.
RPGM, real porn - yes, it's annoying, but I won't say there's more of it now than five years ago.

Weak games were always around, even years ago. It's not surprising that some folks are bandwagoning because some games earn a huge amount of money on Patreon/Subcribestar. There is a reason why so many games popped up that look like Summertime Saga rip-offs.

Then who is going to review new games

On the contrary, I think quality is getting better compared to few years ago when everyone was trying to make a game.

The accessibility and ease of creative tools goes both ways... They allow more people to make games, so we obviously see more awful games. However, we also see more good games too. We see it outside of adult games - just look at Indie games on Steam, so many are terrible, asset flips, cryptominers, etc. BUT we also see some amazing games that would have taken teams to do years ago. Look at Books on Amazon, literal millions of books, some written by AI, some written by people even worse than AI. BUT we also see some self-published authors who never would have had the opportunity before. Look at YouTube.... You get my meaning.
If you're looking purely numerically. Yes - there are more games and Yes - a higher percentage of those games will be bad. But, there's also a lot of content out there that's good. At the end of the day, it just comes down to the creators.

Regardless of quality, the more developers, the better the environment. The best developers will stand out, like that do for normal games.

I am baffled by it. It seems the games don't have the creativity they used to have whether that is becouse of AI , laziness, greed or Low T there does seem to be something. I just can't put my finger on it.
