Null hypothesis is about the only one. Some games take so long for an update to come out that I basically do play every update since the last time I played was already like half a year ago or more.

I used to follow games every update, now I generally wait for a few.
Though I still play Neko Paradise every release that actually has content.
That and some Japanese games that are finished but if they get extra content I’ll play it

There's one by Sierra Lee called The Last Sovereign. I started playing it because of the tags, but within about an hour the story and characters had absolutely grabbed me in a headlock. Some of the best writing and storytelling I've ever seen in a game, and I'm including non-porn games in that list.
