Seems like this game has been at the same stage for years now. Each update seems like a rework of previous stuff, with very little new content. And without animations it seems so far behind.

i don't think he ever left, updates are just extremely slow because the dev decided to make 20 different paths

And do a bunch of reworks. I do think the game is good, just keep in mind that the dev cycle is slow.
