///Hello, welcome to my first thread; defunct now///
I started this as a list of games I've played and sort of review collection as well? But able to change and grow.
I still like this idea, and will be continuing it in another thread, that I will link here later.
But I dont' want the thread easily viewable by just anybody, as I want to talk about games that might upset some people;
Even if it's just to bitch and nitpick at them
I am still open to suggestions, and will happily respond in this thread as I get them, and add new items to my 'to read' list.
tl;dr, this post is no longer getting updated; but I'll chat in the thread.
///----------------------------------------------------///
This is sort of gonna be a post that holds all the VNs (and some other lewd games) that have made a noticeable impact on my reading, and what I think of them. I intend to edit this as I read new VNs, and use it as sort of a database for myself.
But I don't mind if people are willing to make suggestions, or comment on my reviews and provide feedback on the stuff I've played.
I, uh, I play some dumb stuff; my tastes are absurd and I'm certain you all will notice trends. Don't judge me too harshly, I know I'm fucked in the head.
Oh, and it seems most of these are unfinished. If they're finished I'll add a little (C) next to the name. And an (A) if abandoned.
Color Coded Now!
Purples are loves
Blues are really like

Yellows are kinda like
Reds are dislike
(keepin my headers for now, but eventually I will make all of these links to the games here on the forums)
<GAMES I LOVE>
Eternum - Holy shit this game blew me away. Made using Honey Select of all fucking things, the animations are hella good, both sex and non though they are a bit few and far between. The girls are very anime, but that's fine, the protag isn't badly designed and it's not completely devoid of other dudes; they just, aren't as lucky (except Chang, the man is forever gold). The story has me hooked, even if it is a bit kooky sometimes, It's got a lot of funny as heck moments, but not enough of Luna for my tastes.
The Assistant -(Specifically the game by Backhole) I cannot say why this VN feels spanish to me, like Spain; but it does. Regardless, I've enjoyed the plot so far, the characters have a good dynamic and there's an undertone of serious shit going on in the background. Looking forward to more chapters.
Ravenous - The story behind the first arc had me very intrigued. It was a little goofy at times, and sometimes felt like a mechanism for the sex scenes, but I think they blended it alright in the end. The second arc has been nice so far, and the taboo themes have me wanting more.
(C) 23 Sisters - Fucking wild as hell, one of the first VNs I read when I got into this. The writing was off the wall, hard to follow but it kept me hooked the whole way through; very humorous, so many bizarre kinks to laugh at. I can't really explain why I adore this so much, it's unhinged. Hell, maybe that's why I love it.
Tomboy Supremacy - Same author as 23 Sisters, not quite as unhinged but just as funny and still great. Still a wild amount of kinks. The character work has improved since 23 sisters, though I didn't hate those characters; but Tomboy definitely shows the improvements Abere has made. Love it. Oddly, haven't caught up yet I don't think.
(C) Dumb Koala Games - This one is hard to pinpoint, the author has like a dozen games and they're all good so I'm lumping them together as a category. These are kinetic novels, so no branching paths but it's just a way to tell the stories and most of them are fantastic. Very Taboo.
Radiant - Love the renders, the story is mostly good in my opinion, the writing is easy to read. There's a single reference to the triplets as the powerpuff girls and I totally see it and love it.
WVM - This has a fantastic story for me, the path I was able to take is surprisingly wholesome, Jamie is the best girlfriend character ever. I am livid that the game is cliffhangered where it's at right now, but I am eagerly awaiting more. If you go the harem route, which is sort of the intended route I feel, there are times the intimate scenes go on way too long, but I think that's a me issue.
<GAMES I LIKE>
Stray Incubus - Very anime, but I've not minded the story so far and the characters are cute. Not seen many of the sex scenes, but they're ok from what I can tell. I set it aside for the moment, and will catch up later.
Intertwined - This has some really good writing, and the characters are all pretty decent. The dev does a lot of reaction moments, like if a girl gives you a hug or a kiss on the cheek next to a girl you're involved with it will give you a shot of said involved girl giving a side eye to the interaction. I like that the author seems to be trying to make it somewhat realistic, but I do feel like there's a bit of preachy-ness to it? Like, I can't help but feel like the author is calling out people who like polyamory, as there is absolutely none of that in the game. So on one hand; I like the story and romances and drama. On the other, maybe don't talk down to your audience? I might be overthinking it.
Grandma's House - This is one, that for so many reasons I shouldn't like; the characters are ok, the writing isn't really great and is very longwinded. But the author describes it as wholesomely lewd or something like that and I can't agree more. It's got some funny moments, and the big thing I know I love is it is including actual pregnancy; not accelerated. Breeding, like, the whole process is a weird kink of mine and I'm glad they have it in here. Now, on that note, it's got some very unrealistic stuff, but I feel that's part of the charm.
Sparkling Duplicity - Same dev as above, another good story with a few typos. Pretty nice renders, but it seems to be this dev likes a couple projects running at once. I look forward to seeing more, and they do have a completed game I might check out
Friends in Need - The characters are ok at best, but I liked the story, and the protag (at least on the light path) seems down to earth and pleasant to follow around.
Hillside - Love the story, the characters aren't bad looking, but the pacing is abysmal. Still, the story is enough for me to continue this one; which is good cause my first run I picked none of the girls, because they all seem to lock each other out.
(C) My New Family - Somewhat sweet story, haven't gotten super far into it, but I do intend to finish it eventually.
(A) Ecchi Sensei - The character design isn't great to me, the story is a little hamfisted, but I've still been enjoying this for some reason. It's incomplete, but I'm nowhere near finishing it.
(C) Parental Love - I'm not done with this yet, but I've enjoyed what little I've played. I dunno when I'm getting back to it.
The Sunset Fairies - It's ok? The plot is a little off, the writing isn't super polished and the characters are ok. The protag is a bit insufferable, but I'm willing to keep reading. This is one that might eventually fall to don't like, if it doesn't improve.
Couples - I caught up on this VN, and I am adding it to likes, but conditionally. This is a very slow burn. There are plenty of cute stills of the characters and there are relatively frequent scenes but it's very vanilla. Actually that's sort of the entire thing. It's slice of life, lots of cooking, checking in on your friends' days and no real tension or drama. But there are times when that's what I'm in the mood for; so this is why I put it in likes. If you want spicy scenes, or a chaotic story, this isn't it. I will also note the writing makes the characters feel very professional and distant from each other. Not for everyone, to say the least.
(C) Milfy City - A weird little sim, family game. Hilariously it has like, 4 milfs and maybe 8 or 9 LIs? Regardless, it was alright. Despite being 'finished', it feels like it was wrapped up incomplete.
All the Wrong Things - Short, nowhere near complete yet, but the writing is decent. An odd one where you get the thought context of all the characters presented, but I like that.
<GAMES I DON'T LIKE>
(C) Witch 1,2,3 & 4 - This isn't a true VN, it's a side scroll walk and see sex scenes game. Probably why I'm not a big fan. I saw the art and was intrigued, but not good enough to look more into.
Idol Island - The production quality looks ok, but the story kinda has me eh? I dropped it and may look back into it in the future.
(A) Buried Desires - The writing was difficult to read, perhaps not fluent in English? The characters were kind of all over the place. Just not worth the time.
(A) Limits of Sky - This is not only abandoned but feels very unfinished to me. THe characters were not really appealing.
Obscure Affairs - I know it's not done, but the lack of polish is very obvious and I'm not really all that into the characters.
(C) Tamas Awakening - So, the art is not bad. The writing is not the worst. The story annoys the heck out of me for reasons I can't explain?
(C) Oh Daddy - Hard to follow, not great characters in my opinion, writing was... eh?
Sara - Sequel to Oh Daddy
(C) Mans Best Friend - Static image bestiality ish game that just, wasn't appealing to me. The idea of the protag being a dog was, interesting; but in the end not good for me.
Unnatural Instinct - The writing, or translation of this made it nearly impossible to read; and when I got to the end of the current section I just felt very unhappy with it. The characters are nice, if doll like.
A World Of My Own - Just on loading it up, not to my taste.
Personal Assistant - (By Blackheart) Just a little too dark for me. Good writing it seems, and one of the characters sings to my fucking heart, but it's just way too dark for me to enjoy.
(C) The Guardian - The writing put me off sadly; it's got good renders and cute characters but I just can't get into the story for the life of me.
It's Not A World For Alyssa - This one just felt off to me; plot, characters, grammar;; not my taste.
(A) Infinity Passion - Very much unfinished, and very amateur feeling; maybe a culture thing.
The Island - The writing feels wrong, maybe it's the translation but this feels like a mechanism to move from scene to scene; not my style.
Summer Principal - Not a VN per se, reminds me more of ancient flash games. Renders are dolls, not my taste.
<GAMES I'M UNSURE ABOUT>
Boho - I'm not sure on this one, I started it and felt the plot was ok. The character models are, eh? But the story might be worth it?
Again, I know my opinions are probably objectively horrid; but don't judge me too harshly. Just know I'm messed up.
There are almost certainly games I have played but not remembered to put on the don't like list; but I believe I have all my likes and loves right.
If you have suggestions, send them my way
If you disagree, please, feel free to let me know why; if you agree, I'm happy to wax poetic about some of the VNs I love.
I am willing to discuss, be wrong, or be different; but most of all I promise to be cordial.
