About the Game​

SkyRanch.Life is a beautiful Free Dating Sim RPG Visual Novel with Vampires, Elves, Furries, Monsters, and Gods know what else ​

SkyRanch.Life combines Dating, Visual Novel, and RPG gameplay in a Sci-Fi setting to tell the character's story influenced by player's choices.

Characters​

The first playable character is Vleed Sângerel, a vampire socially unadjusted for spatial travel. He has been yeeted off his homeland for biting the wrong butt at the wrong time and now he has to pretend to be normal because It's just easier for the common folk to understand.
Use your Vampiric Powers to get stuff done, but beware of the Crime system (Chaos). Some of these powers allow you to quickly progress through parts of the game, but it all comes at a cost.

The Ranch Plot​

In SkyRanch you will be able to acquire various Ranch Plots where you can hoard your loot and other possessions, grow stuff, and keep some friendly farm "animals."

Even if you personally might not enjoy digging in the dirt and planting seeds, the produce you grow can be used for crafting/ cooking / bribing and to keep your cowgirls and bullboys fed and happy. And you can never be too sure when you'll need a handy potion to largely enhance your adventuring experience. ?

If you're feeling fancy and do not wish to sleep with the open universe above your head, build a house that can be used and abused at your leisure.

Oh and .. before you bring any of the locals home ... you might want to furnish the place to not look like a traveling serial killer ?

The Technical Part​

The game is developed in HTML5 and will be free and playable on Windows, Mac, and Linux, with possible browser and mobile support (if our bandwidth Lords do not place Curses upon this land).

What does a pledge do?​

Every pledge lets us dedicate more time to develop the game instead of looking for freelancing work / other projects. We are very grateful ? for any support.
Pledges also offer you some special perks such as patreon-only posts, WIPS, early builds, voting, private discord channels, and more.

The game is in early development and we're very transparent regarding the state of the game and the updates which slowly build it up. Just ask us on Discord (but don't spam lol).

We're in a development stage where we can start working on another NPC character (design, poses, story, items, etc) or continue Vleed's story (exploration, and a new character with a short interaction).

We plan to dedicate time for all of the options presented here, but we'd like to know if there is a particular area of the game YOU would like to experience sooner rather than later.

This updated fixes a bunch of bugs, some bigger, others smaller.
We try to have stable releases before moving on to adding more content, otherwise it will collapse like a poorly made tower

Crashing into Spring​

Greetings SkyRanchers! Welcome to our end of February 2024 devlog Things are drawing close to another game update —version 0.2! We’re just counting our sheep figuring out where some are stuck and which ones are missing .

Vleed Sângerel has been launched into space , yet even in this wild part of the solar system, he still finds himself confronted with his past and inescapable consequences .

In this next major update Vleed will get to visit Bat Rock —a mysterious place yet oddly familiar at the outskirts of SkyRanch.

From concept art to it's final form:

Here he is rudely greeted by the authorities, not really something which surprises him too much.

He gets to have an interesting conversation with the police-lady, and as interesting conversations go for Vleed, it takes the interlocutor through a carousel ride of emotions.

At Bat Rock you will finally be able to explore an open world 🗺 , as open as the bats and the rocks allow you. Slowly but surely the areas open up for looting , exploration ✈, combat ⚔, romance perhaps ?

Follow the narrative and complete all the side-quests or don't and remain poor, broke, and with no damn fish.

SkyRanch.Life v. 0.2.1​

SkyRanch.Life version 0.2.1 brings numerous fixes and quality of life improvements over v. 0.2.0 (the Siren Sarah update) thanks to the extensive feedback received from our discordies server .

This version skips the Early Access perk for Patrons since it's not a content-heavy release, even though it does have a nice smol addition: Easter Eggs !

For now, the Easter Eggs are counted on the front page of the Tome of Mildly Useful Knowledge, with their separate category coming soon. On this dedicated page we're working on you'll find hints to avoid the clicks of desperation .

More narrative, exploration, combat, work work​

Our work continues, diving deeper into the core mechanics and laying the foundation for what's to come. While much of our recent efforts are "under the hood" ⚙ and not immediately visible, they're crucial for the amazing gameplay ahead.
Here's what we've been relentlessly focusing on:
• Quest Revamp: Everybody likes a good story, so we're reworking the quest system to make adding rich story content easier and more seamless, paving the way for more immersive narratives and chit chat . Tome of Mildly Useful Knowledge will hold all sorts of things now related to quests, or Stuff To Do as they are called. Hope you like reading .
• Isometric Exploration: Vleed’s non-consensual adventure is about to get even more depressing with the new isometric exploration mode (that we've been working on for a while now...)!

In the Bat Rock map—just one of many in this area of SkyRanch—you’ll be able to explore, gather resources, tackle some minor combat, and indulge in all sorts of ranchy activities like planting and farming, to Vleed's best abilities .

The Bat Rock map is massive—45,000 pixels wide by 35,000 pixels tall (for now)! But we’re opening it up one small zone at a time, so you can expect more frequent updates and lots of fresh content as we slowly reveal all five maps in this region.
• Bug Squashing: Ongoing bug fixes are helping us refine the game, ensuring a smoother experience as we gear up for more features.
• Quality of Life Improvements: We're implementing several tweaks and adjustments based on your feedback, making gameplay more intuitive and enjoyable.
