How irritated is it that we download a game that looks great but then realize that it has "future tags" as vaginal, anal, and oral. No lewdity at all. Should there be a separate section for just these games?

Yeh a big question. Good question, no idea. I don't really like those games where we don't have a build up, and just have sex. Unless it fits in the game, like a one night stand, that is relevant years later.
But those build up games, take a while to build up of course, so probably, dev wants it out, if nobody is interested, he could stop wasting his time...

They are mostly marked like that.

Not at all.
But there should be a seperate section for "games" without story.

I've played games that only had teasing so far and were hotter than some that had straight up sex, so no.

I imagine it can be a useful technique for a dev that wants to write a slow-burn story, to quickly exclude impatient players from the game.

Of course. It's the entire point of an AVN. There needs to be something to entice the player to return for the next update, and if done well enough that's how you get donors.

Edit: Adult in this context clearly means erotic/sex based. lol We're not talking about the NYTimes Best Seller list.

Wrong, the entire point of (A)VN is the story, the "N" in (A)VN means Novel. Btw, the "Adult" also dont means porn, it just means not for kids and could also be a gore thriller without any sex scenes. Just because you focus on the "V" and demand it has to be porn, doesnt mean it is or even should be its focus. If more devs would understand this fact, we would get better games instead of more boring copies of copies of copies ...

And you're more than welcome to your opinion. :)

Facts are not based on opinions, they are facts.

I think this depends on the game. Some games the build up is needed for the story, but I think after a couple updates they should have some sex in it at least.

Should they? Probably. It could also be looked at as a matter of how long a release should be. IMO most games are too short at launch. Personally I just avoid games until they have tags like vaginal sex ect assuming there isn't enough content to be worth my time.

This is actually one of my pet peeves tbh. Not so much the needs to have sex before release, but more extreme, like, needs to be significantly finished. At least an entire first chapter, preferably more than one, and definitely a clear ending planned by the creator. These uber long, years in the making games that have 10 chapters and 50gb of data and more subplots and branches that I can count, and also more newly added girls than I can keep track of is just really poor form imo. it is the reason why so many get abandoned. These creators are talented, at least in their ideas? or ability to create something that others cannot, sometimes even writing, but they suck badly at professionalism and the ability to reel in their extravagant plans for a lifelong endeavor. Make a game, release a few updates in a timely manner, and then finish it, and then give us another great work and do the same...like ALL normal games. So for the love of god, stop releasing teasers. I am at a point where I've lost track of even what games I've played and re-downloaded the same game more than once and begum playing and realized, "oh shit...it's this one..."

It doesn't necessarily needs a sex scene. But a proper introduction to the world and the characters is a must.

I'm fine with it as long as there is a disclaimer that doesn't have any sex scenes yet

Very good question. A good sex scene would definitely be good for all new games.

Agree with almost all of this. To add to the point of teasers and other short initial releases, at this point I usually assume those games are made by devs with either an inflated ego or no understanding of the situation and releasing it as early as possible because they think it's going to make them rich right off the bat. Which means when they don't get any money they almost always abandon the game instead of having enough game to create the possibility of making money off of it.

In my case, for the release of my second game I included a sexual scene, because it was coherent with the situation and the girl's personality. To the rest of the primary characters I gave the MC the possibility to fantasize with them.
Then I gave free rein to any kind of scene, because it is a sexual SitCom, without story. Except in the second season where I introduced the story that will connect to my next game and thus complete a trilogy.
Personally I prefer the rodeo before direct sex. But I understand that releasing a game without at least one sex scene is like jerking off with a condom on. It's pretty weird.
Also from my experience of reading comments, etc, a lot of players want straight sex. And if possible, no effort, no quest, no nothing. It would be like breathing and having 3 or 4 H-scenes.

I'm not opposed to early sex scenes but I hate when devs feel like they're necessary and nonoptional. Feels like it worsens games when the dev is compelled to squeeze a sex scene in to the first release no matter how poorly it fits into the actual story- e.g. "all the love interests are the MC's family who he hasn't previously thought of sexually but I have to have a sex scene in 0.01, so here's a random sex dream about his mom/a ridiculously oversexed aunt who visits out of nowhere and immediately jumps his bones/him visiting a prostitute out of the blue who will never be seen again/etc". Doesn't add anything to the story, and in general wastes time and very transparently comes across as "the dev needed a way to work some sex in here".

So my stance is "tell the story you're telling and let the characters have sex when it makes sense for them to do so".
