Should incest games have more look-alike characters in the same family?

Yeah, I'd have to agree with pretty much everyone else.. variety is fine. I'd prefer for them to look somewhat similar tho

Good point, i guess good for the immersion factor but then again variety is the spice of life

Certain common features of the younger members of the family should be there, although heredity is a capricious thing.
In Summertime Saga, though, most of the characters look a lot like each other, even though they are not related.

I believe it would be much better if everyone looked the same to really bring immersion. The big problem with this is society's famous 'filters' and the platforms that are used to sponsor these games... not everyone 'likes' 'accepts' this topic.:ROFLMAO::cry::cry:

Think it should be a mix of both. If same parents for all then yes but if there was a different mom and/or dad for some then variety is needed for sure.

Some features should be passed donw, but I'm not sure if they should be 100% look alike

I don't really need a huge amount of "LI variety" anyway. Give me one well-developed character over three dozen cardboard cutouts that rarely manage to get screentime any day.

I also don't care too much about how alike they look. If they're related, make that matter.

They should look somewhat similar in my opinion, although it seems like the usual default is to call them step-siblings so they can have multiple hair colors.

I think that it helps to have SOME commonality. Like similar eyes and nose, but different hair color.
Or if all are blond, at least different SHADES of blond.
I've played some where the mom and 2 daughters looks like clones. This rarely happens in reality. There is SOME variation to occurs when gametes are mixed.
But I don't like COMPLETELY different appearances, either. Like a mom and dad with Korean, Swedish, Greek/Italian and African kids. Unless they claim that they are adopted, steps, or at least 1 different parent, then it doesn't make logical sense.
Games like Radiant, The Daddy Plan, 23 Sisters and others do a good job of mixing realism with variety.
Devs can even use the same or similar ethnicity base character models, and then alter the features to create realistic variation.
Like 4 separate Indian models. Or 4 types of European with similar features. (small or large nose, shape of face, etc.)

I don't think the perfect balance really exists... I've never been really convinced by graphics that two characters are siblings. They're either too eerily similar and they're basically clones, or they're just fully different people.

But I'm picky on this. It'd be cool to see a balance but I don't think I'm gonna be able to find something I don't still bitch about.

Assuming that both parents are shown in some capacity within the story, There should at least be one trait that each character share with either parent (hair color, eye color, bust, etc)
and for variety, you just have one of the female siblings be trendy and dye their hair, or add aunts and cousins with different hair colors and body types. Also, there's usually at least one friend of the family character that persist in these stories that can grant variety or even a branch family. Whenever the main cast doesn't look alike, that's usually so the games are easier to get by on Patreon TOS, because they think having a separate patch or some code-switch in the game isn't good enough. It's silly though because I see plenty of incest games on Patreon that use workarounds just fine.

Maybe a common trait shared among them, like hair or eye colour, but not all the way. Making drawings of people resemble each other more often than not just makes them look like carbon copies in different poses, and 3D is little better. Rather focus on crafting the relationship dynamics between people to be reminiscent of actual family members, instead of people just living on the same property, since the strength of your writing is often more important than your art in the long run. Good art gets people to try your game, but good writing keeps them invested and waiting for more.

I am a sucker for twins, I think variety is wonderful too

This is something I was thinking about just the other day. I was playing that Midlife Crisis spinoff (Early Life crisis or whatever its called) and I thought to myself, none of these characters look even remotely similar.

Kinda bugs me. But i mean like 90% of Daz games just use the same models anyway so i mean who really cares?

It would make sense. Never seen any that had twin sisters as LIs for the MC. Sisters of each other AND the MC, of course.
