if it's going to be an incest game, I absolutely think there should be some sort of direct resemblance of the parents involved even if it's just things like basic facial features such as eyes and nose or skin tone and hair.

Exactly! It's called family and incest for a reason, and it's definitely not because you live in the same house as another.

In those games it should be at least some semblance between the characters, yes. They dont need to be exactly the same model with a penis or different height, but they can have like the same nose, or the same face shape. Men, there are games that you could argue that the family members look as alike as the characters outside the family. At that point is just laziness from the dev

Facial features, eye and hair color should have some similarities to the parents. Body types can be various.

To be honest, I don't think a harem game with 5 sisters is a good idea regardless.

Better have a game with 1 sister you can build a genuine relationship with.

Or the golden formula: shota MC, bratty older sister, innocent younger sister and MILF mother. Although that has been done so often it becomes boring just for that reason.

Anyway, characters should be memorable and given how many games there are, this is difficult enough. If even one game you need to remember too many characters, it becomes really difficult to give each character the depth they deserve.

Remember: incest is a plot device based on a taboo, but the taboo is boring without something to back it up. This means that the dev must make the family relationship believable through the story. The more realistically they behave towards each other, the stronger the taboo and therefore the stronger the final payoff.

I appreciate the effort if there are similarities. Sometimes it's taken too far, as someone mentioned, where they are practically twins.
However, their interaction is more important I think. And I'm playing some already far fetched porn game, made by some dude, on a potato in Russia somewhere.. it's not a big issue if they're not great.

Of course one takes whatever one can get, but that doesn't mean that one can't hope for something better....

I think a basic resemplence sure adds to the fantasy, but at the same time you dont wan't all the characters to look identical. On the flipside, you don't want them to look fundamentally different.

It's a small thing though, and doesn't really lessen my enjoyment of a game

in all of my games, i like to have a variety of characters involved.

if i'm fooling around with some sisters (whether the game is trying to imply mc is related to them or not), those sisters should look alike.

Was going through the incest tag to find a new game to play through when I realized that a lot of the girls in those games look nothing alike, despite often being daughters, sisters, mothers, etc, so the question sort of popped into my head.

yeah, they're often using separate, existing characters for them.

I have seen a couple games that use familial resemblances -- its rare -- but if properly done - is a real turn on.
