4 Years of Service
A new LewdCorner add-on has been introduced across all game sections.
One of the biggest problems with browsing game sections has been that the games shown near the top were not always the games that had actually received a new update.
A thread could be pushed back to the top because somebody left a comment, asked a question, reported an issue, or posted something unrelated to a new game version. Meanwhile, a game that had received an actual content update could be buried underneath it.
To improve this, I created a new LewdCorner add-on that adds a dedicated sorting option called:
Recent Game Updates
This filter is designed to prioritize games based on their latest recorded game update rather than ordinary thread activity.
What Has Changed?
The Recent Game Updates filter has been added to all supported game sections and should now be selected automatically by default.
When entering a game section, you should immediately see the games with the most recent updates first.
You should no longer need to open the filter menu and manually change the sorting option every time you browse another section.
The default sorting will remain set to Recent Game Updates unless you manually select another filter.
Why Was This Needed?
Until now, normal thread sorting was heavily affected by general activity.
That meant a thread could appear “recent” because of:
- A new comment or reply
- A support question
- A bug report
- A discussion between members
- An unrelated thread bump
- A moderator or uploader response
None of those things necessarily mean that the game itself was updated.
The purpose of this new add-on is to separate recent discussion activity from actual game updates.
When you are browsing for something new to play, the games that were genuinely updated should now be much easier to locate.
How It Works
When you open a game section, the forum should automatically use the Recent Game Updates sorting option.
This should place the latest updated games toward the beginning of the section, regardless of whether an older game thread recently received a normal reply.
You can still open the filter menu and manually choose another sorting method whenever needed.
However, once you manually change the filter, the forum may continue using your selected preference rather than automatically switching it back.
If the section does not appear to be sorted by recent game updates, check the filter menu and make sure Recent Game Updates is selected.
Important Notice About Other Filters
Some of the other filtering and sorting options are currently a little fucked and may not behave exactly as expected.
They may:
- Display games in an incorrect order
- Mix older and newer threads together
- Remember the wrong filter selection
- Produce inconsistent results between sections
Those options will be reviewed and fixed sooner or later.
For the moment, Recent Game Updates is the recommended filter and is the main part of the new add-on that members should use.
What This Means for Members
This update should make browsing LewdCorner’s game library faster and considerably less frustrating.
Instead of digging through pages of bumped threads, you should be able to:
- See newly updated games more quickly
- Find fresh versions without relying on thread replies
- Browse every game section using the same default sorting method
- Spend less time searching and more time actually finding something to play
This is especially useful for members who regularly check the forum for new releases, patches, content additions, translations, bug fixes, or updated builds.
Please Report Any Problems
Because this is a newly created add-on, there may still be sections, categories, or unusual situations that do not behave correctly.
Please report it if:
- Recent Game Updates is not selected by default
- The option is completely missing from a game section
- Recently updated games appear in the wrong order
- An old game appears as newly updated without receiving an actual update
- Changing between game sections causes the filter to stop working
- The filter repeatedly resets to another option
- You notice any other unusual sorting behavior
When reporting an issue, please include the affected game section and, when possible, a screenshot or link showing the problem.
That will make it much easier to identify whether the issue is caused by the add-on, the section configuration, or incorrect update information on a specific thread.
The goal is simple:
When a game is actually updated, members should be able to find it.
No more treating every random thread bump like a new game update.
