Reasons for dropping a game

Very true.

The problem for me is different countries/regions have obvious "English styles", names, and artwork. My brain picks up on them and I start reading them in very bad movie parody accents. I had one that appeared to come out of Eastern Europe and everyone got a bad "Boris and Natasha" accent. Another one came out of the UK and got stilted Monty Python accents. It sucks because it really does kill the mood...
I dont see the problem with this this sounds hilarious. Actually can you narrate my VNS for me?

I think it's a case by case, a corruption game with forced scenes for example can act as cold shower if it leads to an unwanted direction. Games with forced NTR too, there was this games with a really decent gameplay and plot that only after a few hours of game it decides to shove everything up it's ass to center the plot around the most unlikeable shitbag in the plot and ruin the relationship mechanic only to leave you wondering why didn't the MC just run the sword on that guy's throat on the first bullshit he pulled. Save breaking bugs too as you now have to do everything from scratch. Forced political messaging or moments where your character spine seems to be ripped appart even though you had plenty of decent choices before. And games that you need to complete several times to 100% but doesn't add much to each new run, even worse if it's the grindy RNG type of game

lack of engagement from the creator is a real killer, just no news no updates then 10 months later there's just an update but you don't even know it dropped

Having kinks/tags that is not listed for ones I hate, like ntr, scat, rape, futa/trans and mind break just to name a few.

One game I remember is that it said "Male" as the MC but the first time having sex with one of the girls MC had bigger tits than the girl did.
They advertise it as male but it was clearly futa/trand MC.

Any genre I do not feel comfortable with. Other than that, anything that runs out of content too quickly. Short games are fine, but if I can 100% a larger game in an hour it feels unfufilling

Too much repetitive grind (and i mean a LOT, i finished as Disgaeas i played without trouble), or changes that remove too much stuff, mainly in online/live service games.

I don't really have much time to play, so if the story drags or there's too much grind I drop it, some to hopefully play during vacations, others just go to the recycle bin.

As I've played more games, my tolerance for grinding in anything has lowered quite a bit. Doing the same action for 30 minutes just to view 1 new scene isn't worth it. Generally if there's a clear goal/the grind keeps things interesting then of course I'm still engaged, but long gone are my grinding days.

What makes me drop out almost immediately the moment I have to grind—I hate it when developers don't respect your time.

Shitty writing and unworthy grind, some games got it right, some others mess it up

Boring and a very grindy gameplay will pretty much make me drop the game.

Agree with all the grind comments - but it takes a lot - Foot of the Mountains is probably the best example of this
