Just something that rolls off the tongue and goes hard tbh.

picked my username about twenty years ago when I was signing up at a poker site that is now defunct, just random, and they made me add a 007 at the end, guess there was already a stumpy, no idea really why i chose the name, I mean my legs are just fine as well as my junk.

Mine is from an anime/manga named Toradora, it's the name of the male lead, I choose it mostly because I really liked the name, but also because to this day Taiga the female lead is the only animated female character I ever had I crush on, so I started using it in my teenager years, got used to using it, and started using it everywhere since then.

DubbleU/DoubleU aka W. Derived from El Wray a character in Robert Rodriguez' Planet Terror. He created the El Rey Network which is pretty major for Hispanic people.

Anyhow, El Wray for Rey or Reymundo, hence the name DubbleU/W.

i was looking for a name for a character in a mud and i just thought it up and really really liked it so it stuck

At one time (1989-1990) on the old local to my area BBSs I used "Metalhead."

A trip down memory lane... of gamer tags.

Originally I was know as 'STR' (Which was short for Stretch (old nickname)) back when I played Battlefield Heroes.
But then I noticed a lot of gaming sites wouldn't let you have a 3 letter name, so I needed to change it.

I got into Crysis for a bit and changed my name to Prophet, that name lasted for a few months and then I got into Starship Troopers.

I tried multiple variations of the name Rico (from Starship Troopers) and all were taken, then I had an idea of changing a letter for a number.
And then about 12 years ago, the name RIC0H was born. :)

And it has stuck till this day.
Beautiful, I love these origin stories!

A truncated version of the song Stardog Champion by Mother Love Bone.

My nickname is a combination of my real name (Alex) and my birth year (1980).
