English, but I also enjoy playing VNs with questionable English translations, for some reason.

English, but I also don't understand anything that isn't English.....typical right?

Yet another German here who wouldn't dream of playing a game in German. And I have a hypothesis for why this is the case:

German is in the process of becoming a dialect of European English. In some areas such as bureaucracy or daily shopping for food, you can't see this yet, at all.
But in areas closely related to international cooperation or the Internet, this process is already close to its conclusion. I don't want to read a forum such as this one in German, or play a game in German, any more than I want to read a food label or a bureaucratic letter in my local dialect of German: not at all.

The individual motivation for this is efficiency. In these areas, information in Germany is typically of a lower volume and quality and less current than information in English. In the worst cases, such as 'German' documentation from Microsoft and some 'translated' games, it is automatically translated and very hard to make any sense of. This is also why my computers and browsers are always set to the English user interface.

Overall this makes English the standard language for German speakers in some areas. Things have even advanced to the point that in some cafés in Berlin, native German speaking patrons and native German speaking waitstaff speak English with each other to avoid the effort of figuring out whether both can speak German.

I feel like I have a good grasp of English but every now and then I still encounter a word I don't know. What's your native language and do you have trouble finding VNs in it?
yes, our native language are far too many to be inserted into a vn.

I´m german but due to some condition or whatever (it´s really not really clear) my brain decides to forget GERMAN woords more often than english and if I read too much english, I start to think english too
(If that makes sense.... I can´t really describe it)

And for the VN-part: Some games have a german option or translation but to be honest, I avoid them. German has to be the most unsexy laguage I can imagine 😂

Mine is Russian but I almost never play VNs in it even when given the option. Idk why, dirty talk in Russian kinda sounds silly to me.

My Native languaje its Spanish, but i almost perfectly understand the english except for some words complicated

Mine is Spanish but i never play them in spanish, even if there is a translation. For various reasons
1.- It's usually a literal 1:1 translation which usually means there is a looot of broken spanish, and it takes me out.
2.- Spanish has so many dialects that if the translation is not in your dialect it sounds very odd
3.- I'm just...used to seeing things in english. I mainly consume this media in this language and it's what i'm accustomed. It'd be weird to read "Ay papá sigue dandome por el culo ay ay ay". At least to me lol.

Portuguese, i can read and understand fluent English. And if i don't know some word, i use a translator

Italian but I lived in English speaking countries, so it's a natural language to me.
