Ever since I saw the James Franco Spelling Bee skit on SNL, I always name the character Little Pig Boy. Little Pig if it doesn't allow for a surname, and Little Pigette if it's a female protagonist. Just a little running gag that I still think is funny.

I tend to go with Sam because it's gender neutral and if they want a last name, Johnson because it's a penis. If the MC is asian, last name Chin, because chinchin is penis.

When a game gives you the option to rename characters, do any of you rename the characters after people you know? Asking for a friend.

Nope. It would also be kinda hard to name a sister after your own when you don't have one.

On the contrary, I'd rename a character if they already share a name with close family. For me incest is hot in the abstract, it's not something I'd actually fantasize about doing with actual relatives. Also, while I don't believe that there is something inherently wrong with incest, I think essentially all realistic scenarios are also highly problematic. So I think its better to try and purge any actual incestual desires rather than reinforce them.
