Naming the MC

I don't think it's important to name a character but I leave it as default.

I always use my own name because I imagine myself in the game, and that’s why I never play netorare games except netori

I've been giving the same name for all games, it was the default name on the first ever game i played

Some names I've used:
  • Rod Kickass
  • Dirk Diggler
  • Ace Rawdawg
  • Carlos Spicyweiner
And if you're gonna play an NTR game:
  • Chuck da Cuck

I tend to go with Johno Shank when given the option for adding a last name.

I always use the same name, which is not my name, kind of an alternate reality thing, but can instantly recognize the name since it's always the same.

  • I hate it when developers force me to select a name for the main character and there is no default. I have never read a printed novel that forces you to do that shit, and I suspect those developers have never read a printed novel, period.
  • I hate it when developers ask me for a name and don't tell me whether there is a default. When asked, I always press Enter to accept the default. Then always one of two things happens: 1. The game uses a default that was not mentioned before. Fine. 2. The game actually uses the empty string a name. WTF? Now I have to roll back and enter my default name for this shit. What's wrong with making this an option in the settings?
  • I particularly hate it when developers force me to select a name for the main character each and every fucking time I click a scene in the gallery. The otherwise outstanding Stormside has this insanity and makes it even worse by not having a default name and in some cases also asking how the MC should be addressed. Again each and every fucking time I want to seethe scene. And these are generally short scenes, too.
In the cases when I must come up with a name because there is no default, I am using Inigo Jones. That's the name of a famous 16th/17th century English architect. But for obvious reasons it was also used as the nickname of Edward "the boy" Jones, who broke into Queen Victoria's Buckingham Palace in 1838, 1840 and 1841. And more to the point, the name features in the following 18th century song lyrics:

The night he was wedded, quoth Inigo Jones:
"Thou flesh of my flesh and thou bone of my bones;
There's a joke in the name of thy husband, sweet Nancy,
A rare one, so rare that it tickles my fancy."
"Lie still, my dear love, and my good thing shall out;
Oh Lord! Mister Jones, what are you about?"
"Hush, hush pretty creature your squeaking and moans,
'Tis the joke that I told you of: in I go Jones".

i have narcissistic tendencies.
of course i insert my own name into the games.

If the MC has a name already I leave it alone. If the MC doesn't have a name or the name is silly I usually go with Marc.

Having an "isekai" name also means you're safe from games that could potentially be leaking personal information.

Oh, never thought of that actually. Might be overkill but seems like a safe habit

I go for BRUCE, my dog, he used to hump on every single fucking thing in my house lmao before i castrate him sad_emoji

sometimes its fun to name the fun names like mike litorus or john madden amongst others

I always name it Lance, not sure how it started, but after one game named it I used to that name and kept it in following games. In female case usually use default name, but sometimes Lianne.

I tend to hve a stroke on my keyboard.
Don't really care about it.

I always use a specific name for MC depending on whether I want to impersonate MC or experience the perspective of a third person.

i pick a random name using random name generator
