Do ya'll prefer Renaming the love interest and/or side characters as opposed to using their default names? Assuming they have default names to start with.
I feel like back then I preferred renaming them. But now a days I don't mind going with the flow of what the Author set as their default names

I do the same. In the beginning I liked to rename the side characters. But not anymore. What I still do is renaming the MC. That is kind of obligatory for me.

I prefer to rename them, but it's not an important issue.

And the better the story, the writing, I feel less urge to raname them.

I have to add something, that crossed my mind. Many games have a character with my daughter´s name as default (no I will not tell you which here, even if you literally suck me off).
While maybe a lot of people would love that or even change a character to the name of relatives, it disturbed me a lot in the beginning and I changed it every time, I got the possibility to do. But in the meanwhile I am able to separate my feelings. So it is fine as it is.
