Damn, that's kind of disappointing to have one of the girls be off-limits because of characteristics they created themselves, but I guess I can understand. Certainly seems like it would be weird/awkward to have the rest of the family participating in Anna and MC's shared fun, with only the one daughter being left out, feels like it would either be a really difficult and frustrating thing to work around having everyone keep that secret from her, or kind of a point of disappointment for her, but I guess we'll have to just see how they make it work.

I did really enjoy her character as well, too... I mean I enjoyed all the daughters, but I really had enjoyed the MC's interactions with Olivia. Well, there's always the possibility of time jumps, like he's doing with My New Family 2, so I guess there's always the potential of future Olivia love some day, even if it's less exciting than present Olivia love.

TLDR: a prequel is being worked on (first part is out to beta testers) because the dev had their computers and external drives seized by the German government because the dev was made to look like they were running a crypto scheme. The dev was/is a witness in a trial against the person who set them up, and they recently testified against that party who fled the country. Hopefully this will compel the authorities to give back the stuff they took since they have no case against the dev. The prequel will have a couple of characters from the OG game because the dev had sent those files to another dev for special artwork, and there are plenty of new characters in the new game.

K7 wants to, but afaik his main pc etc. that has everything needed to build this game is still confiscated by German police because one of his "friends" has set him up for fraud. When he gets it back he's continuing this game.
As compromise he's now working on a prequel story which he will release for free and if I remember correctly, the first version is supposed to be released very soon.

This game is nothing like My New Family, at all.

My New Family has a completely different art style, the story has no similarities other than both being incest and harem focused (and any little meta jokes like the German/Japanese stuff and love of gingers, I guess). It's about a son returning to his mother after growing up with an abusive father and finally meeting his half-sisters, aunt, cousin, grandmother (and all of the random other friends in the city), while this game is about a married father with amnesia having to rediscover his family, as well as his comatose wife's incest kink and desire to share him with all of their family members.

My New Family is - for the most part - much lighter and faster paced, while this game has a bit heavier content and seems to be taking a bit more time to build things up.

Both are absolutely worth playing - as long as you enjoy the art styles - long enough to decide if you like them, and if you don't enjoy one or the other (or either) then that's fine, but to say that it's pointless to play one because you played the other is just flat out ridiculous. That would be like saying it's pointless to play Dragon Quest if you've played Final Fantasy because they're both RPGs made by Square Enix.

Progress Update | 22/04/2024

Hello there you super amazing and very wholesome people!

Another week, another progress update!

The case where I was a witness two weeks ago continues tomorrow with more witness hearings, but I'm not going to be there anymore. My lawyer will, though, and he will update me on everything that's being said there. Nothing else going on in that regard so that's all I can share for now. Tomorrow ( 23rd ) and Thursday ( 25th ) are the last hearings for this month, then it will be decided if they actually gonna go through till the end of may or if this will be enough. Since the main culprit is still not back in Germany, more hearings shouldn't really be needed, I think. Once he is back in Germany though it will all start again. Hopefully I will also get some news regarding the case against me this week, though.

Okay, let's talk about the games

The script for the second beta/day of the prequel is about 70% done. I decided to try something else again to further deepen the relationship the MC has with certain girls. If you remember, when I announced the prequel girls I mentioned that not all of them will appear in the main game. Well, I changed my mind. The initial plan was just for Rei, Lea and Katharina to appear but now Jackie will 100% be part of the main game as well at some point. The reason is that initially, I just wanted her to be a "good friend" of the MC. During writing for the prequel it quickly turned out that making her his best friend is actually better and once you see the dialogues between them, you will understand why. She has a very good sense for people and their emotions and helps the MC through a confusing phase with Rei. The second day will also have some lewd action with a girl that people that played the beta probably didn't expect to get a treatment like that yet. It's going to be more of a funny and cute lewd event because both the MC and the girl are still very inexperienced. It's something new to write for me as well because even the MNF MC had some experience with women while the MNM MC in the prequel basically knows nothing. I guess he could use a teacher, some kind of red haired cougar...Maybe she helped him become the good lover he is in the main game? You'll see once you play it. The second day/beta also features some more stuff with Amelie but I'm still trying to figure out how to make her become a good friend of the MC. I have something in mind that happened in a book I read a lot of times before. Maybe they're going to share an experience that doesn't need much explaining - It will just lead to them becoming true friends. TOdays render is Sabrina in the lounge of the uni, where she has lunch with the MC, a good time to talk about a lot of things.

Now that I decided to include all the girls from the prequel in the main game as well, I was thinking about a way to introduce them. It's going to be very very easy with one of the girls, but some of the others might need some more time before they can appear. Now that the MC has all his memories back I can actually do some more "flashbacks" where I might end up using renders from the prequel to show what happened there. I know that not everyone is a fan of these, though, so I will make sure to use it rarely and only when the time fits. Like I said a few times, I want people that never played or intend to play the prequel still know who these girls are - and the other way around, too! Still, I wrote quite a bit for Chapter 4 again as well and if it continues like that, the full script will be ready sooner than I thought. Which will make the waiting for my assets even more painful, I think, but fingers crossed it won't be that long anymore.
